ELP has been on my playlist since 1970 and i'm now 62 years old. Greg Lake's voice is one of the best in Rock's history if not the best...And Keith...He's our Mozart genius of our modern times...I was lucky enough to see them LIVE often...A million thanks to ELP for the great music and for the emotions!!!

I was lucky enough to see Keith LIVE twice in my life: Emerson Lake and Powell in 86-87 and Three/3 which I know a lot of people don't like but "Desde La Vida" is one of my favorite Emerson jams! GIVE THAT TUNE A LISTEN!

I'm 62 now. I saw ELP on the Black Moon tour. One of my all time favorite bands. I was learning Trilogy on the piano before arthritis set in. My first hash experience was the first time I heard the piece at 15. I was blown away. Those were the days.

Oh yeah, got their first album while in the Navy in 1970. Started seeing them live in 72 and saw every tour that came to the Spectrum in Philly thru the 70s. Got to see Greg Lake solo a few years ago and ( though sometimes in a lower register) his voice still gave us chills.

Yes, it was absolutely moving to see, in about 13:40, during "The Endless Enigma," Rachel shedding tears. I couldn't stop the tears in my eyes as I felt for her and the memory of one of music's greatest talents!

I was moved by seeing Rachel weeping while playing this piece. I'm sure many of Emerson's devoted, adoring fans felt the same way! I think she replicates his playing better than anyone I've ever heard! I think this tribute concert to the dear departed maestro is lovely!

As a 36 year fan of Keith Emerson's music, all I can really say is I wish I could have been at this performance to witness this for myself. This was done right, with all of the musical passion that pulled me in when I first heard Brain Salad Surgery on the radio way back when. Excellent!

I believe it was December of 73 or 74 I saw them at the Garden in NYC. It was before Greg's Christmas Song, which brings tears to my eyes still. The concert included a children's chorus from the City. I had all their LP's. Later while at Cornell they played at Barton Hall. I am 60. Their music is a part of me like no other.

I only saw ELP once--back in the early 70's at the old Spectrum in south Philadelphia. The acoustics weren't great but the show was out of this world! He was a genius and I think he might have given some of the old masters a run for their money. I know about some of Keith's excesses and as I've noted the passing of some of the great ones over the last few years (especially so many of the artists of my era--I'm 65), I keep coming back to a line I heard a long time ago. o paraphrase: He was here for a short time but His was such a brilliant light!!! RIP Keith. We'll not see your like again!

Hello there William, I am 65 too and saw the brilliance of Mr Emerson with The Nice 3 times back in the day (they say I had a misspent youth, but I beg to differ). Hang on to a dream, America, Rondo ..... I could recite the set list. Saw ELP at their first big gig at the Isle of Wight festival too, along with Hendrix, Free, Miles Davis ......... can I buy a time machine on Amazon? I need it tomorrow.... or was that yesterday .....?

I remember back in probably 1977: the battles in the polls over who were the best keyboard players: Wakeman or Emerson....and Lake vs. Squire as bassists...I had fallen in love with all that music in 1977 when I was thirteen years old. 1977 was a magical year.

Trilogy has always been the quintessential prog rock tune for me. I was practically tripping on hash for the first time, candlelit studio apartment. A real hippie hangout. The piano part driving into intense synthesizer just blew me away. From then on I craved more. Still do. Prog, jazz fusion, classical. Real music.

Rachel Flowers is incredible, in every sense of the word. She brings me to tears every time. It must have been quite the experience for Keith to hear his compositions played for him exactly as he played them, including every nuance and even every mistake. I saw ELP 4 times in for the Brain Salad Surgery tour - The LA Forum, then the Long Beach Arena, then the San Bernardino Swing Auditorium, then the California Jam where bands including The Eagles and Black Sabbath were OPENING for ELP.

Simply Fantastic! Poignant & Melancholic - the passing of an Age. As the poet said: “Though much is taken, much abides; and though We are not now that strength which in old days Moved earth and heaven, that which we are, we are; One equal temper of heroic hearts, Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.” ― Alfred Tennyson

Is there an official video of this concert? I was a life long fan of keith, first saw him in the Nice in 68 at the age of 16 at our local college, from that moment I was totally hooked on Keith's music, I must admit I was sad when the Nice broke up after seeing then live four times in the 60s, but then ELP come along and they just blew my head off, I was lucky to see ELP live here in the UK a number of times in the 70s, and there reunion black moon tour in 95 and a couple of reunion nice concerts as well, right up to there farewell gig. Both bands were brilliant , I doubt if we will see or hear a bands like these again . Keith and Greg's deaths were a big blow to me as well as blinking the drummer in the Nice, it was music I grew up with and even now certain pieces of music bring tears to my eyes. Carl is carrying on with ELP legacy, but it's not the same without keyboards. RIP the nice and ELP for bringing me such great music.

While Keith’s piano concerto is playing in my head it has a tendency to morph into Tarkus...That’s a good thing: I am not complaining. Do each of those compositions have enough in common for one to morph into the other? I have no idea: I am not a musician. Perhaps that’s what I should have done. Instead I became a philosopher and ended up making a living ss a techie.

What is the name of the piece after Abaddon's Bolero? It sounds like one of the unused Emerson, Lake & Powell ideas found on Cozy Powell's band rehearsal tapes. The bootleg named it "Serious Pursuit" but I wonder if it had an official title.
