Do you think this was completely improvised or do you think he composed the LH ostinato and RH melody (0:10 then 3:36) beforehand? I guess we'll never know, just wondering what you think.

My best guess is that he wrote the LH beforehand and had a general idea of what he was going to do in the RH, but mostly improvised.

@@juanortiztranscriptions728 The ostinato and the theme (from 0:04 to 0:24) are composed, the rest is improvised: an another recorded version of it exists at the end of Solo Concert of Bremen, Part 2 (at 45:09), the last 5 and half minutes of the track, performed 11 years before this one, in 1973. Sadly I didn't find any audible extract of it on KZbin. I knew the 1973 version before discovering that awesome 1984 filmed version and I was thrilled to actually see his left hand at work with that crazy ostinato. Great job on the score ! May be the 1973 version will get its own transcription too? ;) Cheers !
