I love how these two are reflecting on the early days and how Dan brings up how they had a great owner back then, as if pretty much inferring that ESPN doesn't have that now. Cuz after all, Dan is right! ESPN was about sports back then, now it's more about the drama surrounding athletes and their lives off the court/field/etc. It sucks so bad now, i loved Kieth and Dan, and then adored the next duo almost as much, Stuart Scott and Rich Eisen, (i think that's how his name is spelled), who they took over as the new primary anchors for sports-center in the late 90's to early 2000's.

If the 90s version of SportsCenter were still a winning format in 2019, you can be certain ESPN would have stuck to it. But in an age where it's easy to find whatever highlights we want on KZbin and other websites, that's no longer the reality. I'm not a fan of opinion shows myself, but the days where SportsCenter could merely focus on highlights and post-game interviews and expect a large viewing audience are over.

The young ones will never know how entertaining Sportscenter was in the 90's. It was just a different world, and you may watch KZbin clips, but its just not the same. You have to put yourself in a mindset of a world with no internet, and if youre young, its just not possible.
