Had to find this episode and listen after hearing what you said on Episode 85 (BTS). What a bummer-feel so much for you on the audio front-tons of value in this episode. As someone trying to work their way into angel investing/VC, your question "what characteristics have you found in the good young VC's that you've found and have been around?" resonated a lot-his long story short, "it's incredibly rare, like that of being a consistent NBA all-star." But hearing that they brought in Sam who wasn't traditionally in the VC space, but they had a significant angel record and referenceable CEO's (from Founder Fund's portfolio), for whom Keith and team respected a lot was a solid proxy/indicator. Realizing so much that just starting to invest and truly being a value-add investor to the founders of the companies you invest in, seems like the best way to break into the VC space if you're coming from an unconventional path. Now just nailing down the value-add bit (e.g. where the founders can actually use your help, not just where you want to help) haha

Apologies for the low-quality audio. There was a malfunction in the mics for the first half that was resolved about mid-way through. We did what we could to treat the audio but there were limitations to what we could fix while keeping the audio comprehendible. Appreciate people bearing with us - we've put in stop gaps to make sure this doesn't happen again.

Must be nice to have such a life of privilege that your first boss is Peter Thiel after you’re a fully grown man and completely done with school. Keith’s arms are looking better with all the years of gh. Hope that he or hubby is not Likkud spy like Charles Johnson made a somewhat compelling case for. I do like Keith’s personality, other than saying ageist remarks about himself, however I don’t see him as much of a contrarian as he sees himself, evidenced by the fact that he’s turned off by true contrarians, other than Peter of course. If Keith considers himself a Consigliere, isn’t that just another bullshit term for professional middle manager that all in crew and Elon have dissed? Also, I think there needs to be some serious research into how poppers (prostate pumpers drug of choice) changes a person’s voice.
