I saw Keith live a few years ago. I'm wasn't much of a country fan but my wife wanted me to go with her. I left the show a country and a Keith fan. Honestly one of the best guitar players I've ever seen. If you get the chance catch him live.

crunchb3rry Brad is an extremely gifted guitar player. So much so that he is probably the most tasteless guitar player i have ever heard on country radio. The stuff he plays is phenomenal but i find myself changing the channel. It over powers the song so bad that it is too much! If he could only restrain himself a bit! Chicken picking a ballad is a little much....

I saw Keith Urban at a small festival, just as he was getting popular, and he put on a great show. I was obviously impressed with his talent but I was even more impressed that he put so much into entertaining a small audience when he was obviously going to be a headliner soon

for me, a live performance from a musician can get me hooked on the artist. Keith is an amazing live performer. watched him mid solo loose his strap, kept going until John Mayer helped him get it back together. was impressive.

There is no hiding place in country music, it shows up a bad musician unlike heavy metal players who get away with murder. Country guitarists really can play their instruments.

@HipsterEatinShark4 жыл бұрын
@@jeffjones5001 What are you talking about? Like it's hard to play the major pentatonic all damn night over a G chord. Come show me how you "hide" behind a Jeff Loomis solo, sometime, Jeff. Show me a player who is a "bad musician who can't really play their instrument" that can fake his way through a Petrucci album. There are bad musicians everywhere. There is some hayseed with an acoustic who thinks he's the next Blake Sheldon in every small town in Middle America.

Keith is one of the world's great musicians but because of the "country" label some people overlook him. Mediocre country players can turn people off country music and of course Country music has that stigma attached to it. Back in the 60s it wasn't cool but it was the brilliant musicianship of many country guitarists that helped me see the light. Guys like Glen Campbell shone a light on Country and of course the song "Nashville Cats" made one think twice. Steve Earl was another who drew attraction to the genre.
@wildmikefilms10 жыл бұрын
Thats so true. country is on the whole a fairly simple and stupid form of music, however i really enjoy it because of how fun to sing all the songs are. But Keith Urban is different. i really do believe that he is one of the greatest musicians in the popular industry right now. Plus he is amazing in concert!
@RubbelisPro7 жыл бұрын
Felix Burke country music in my opinion really is terrible (modern country that is..) however, credit must be given where it is due, Keith is a fantastic guitar player and I respect him for that.
@itguy86717 жыл бұрын

@MrMd55557 жыл бұрын
There are only two kinds of music in the history of time, good and bad that's it... Who cares what label or genre the big wigs put on it.. If it makes you wanna play it, pick up your guitar and play it. Today's "country music" is mostly pop artists with a steel guitar and an accent, but at least most of these guys actually play, write and sing. Its a shame so many music "artists" in main stream don't play any instrument, don't write their songs and in many cases they can't even sing without auto tune..in today's "Popular" music, How do you call them a musician if they can't make their own music without processors, auto tune & big fancy pro studios? It's a shame what the industry has turned into.

Ya know, I've been looking at some very good priced Telecaster type kits, and Telecaster clones. Considered buying one. As much fun as a kit could be, It could also wind up being a big disappointment after it's playable. The clones, some good, some not. I decided to just save a little and get the genuine article. I trust Fender to build an instrument I will be happy with years to come. Sustained value is another virtue. Although this is not why I buy a particular guitar. Thanks! For what y'all do, I enjoy all the emails, stay safe, stay sane, stay well!👍👍🍕🍺🏆

You may have seen them by now, but if you haven't: check out Keith Urban and John Mayer playing together here on KZbin. There are a few videos, but some highlights (in my opinion) are their cover of Don't Let Me Down, Til Summer Comes Around and Sweet Thing. Well pickups have magnets in them that pull on the strings so removing a pickup does allow the strings to sing a little better since there's one less magnet pulling on them :)

I love how even though later he has found a superior guitar to be his #1 (Clarence becoming a back-up), that just talking about Clarence gets him all misty-eyed. I have an old Washburn acoustic like that...it would be overlooked by most people just looking at her dings and worn finish on the back of the neck, etc. but to me, she is the only guitar (of many) that have lasted with me for over 20 years. she's nothing special to anyone but me, and I wouldn't ever part with her.

Damn it must suck to have all those awesome guitars, and then if that wasn't bad enough, he has to wake up beside Nicole Kidman everyday! Hopefully he doesn't have the misfortune of having to drive a Ferrari or Lamborghini as well. Seriously though, he deserves his success because he is a true musician. I'm a guitarist and I find popular country impossible to listen to for the most part. Luckily there are a few great talents like Kieth, Brad paisley, Ashley Monroe, Allison Krause, etc. willie Nelson is my fav person in music period, and I'm totally a rock guy, but I was talking about new music.
