put the oxy torch next to the intake and apply some O2 while the engine is running, if it revs like it should then need bigger intake.
@Keith57002 жыл бұрын

@rompdude2 жыл бұрын
that's a very cleaver idea, add oxygen without proving more air flow. Just be careful to not over do it and make it lean! be very reserved in how much you add. However it may simply show its too rich and not limited by the intake. But given the design on the intake, I would not be surprised if it could be a "bit" of a limitation, but not much.

I am a Petrolhead and adore the whole process of considering how, then the tasks of making the changes necessary to liberate more power from an I.C. engine. In this case, for this art you’ve created, in my opinion, it’s not necessary. It’s like asking how much power a beautiful clock, painting or sculpture makes. Your car has all the parts of a soul - carbs, pistons, headers, everything. It breathes, is alive and brings tingles just to look at it. I really wouldn’t try to extract more power. Perhaps the only reason to do that would be to hear the difference in the music.
@Keith57002 жыл бұрын
I’ve been doing mods slowly over the past months. The silencer has gone, so it now has twin straight through pipes, with an X pipe. The inlet system, up to the heads, has been opened up 50 or 60%, and gas flowed better. There is now an electric supercharger, which seems to produce about 4psi boost, but I’ve not fully mapped that yet. The ECU controlled ignition has been scrapped, due to constant cutting out of the ECU. It now has twin old-fashioned, but reliable, distributors and coils. Just got to get the triple plate clutch working better and it’s ready to run, (on the dyno).
