Be still my heart NATAS!! I was born raised and still live in Newark NJ with a very large Portuguese population, grew up eating natas they are not made like I grew up having them, when I went to Lisbon in 2017 I almost cried because the Natas tasted just like I remembered them as a child!

0:25 - Rossio, not Rosário. 😉 5:16 - Mouraria, not Mouradinha. 😉 5:34 - The earthquake was in the 18th century (1755), not the 17th century. 😉 15:25 - Not exactly. The pastry that was created by the monks of the Jerónimos monastery was the Pastel de Belém. The Pastel de Nata was created somewhere else by someone else but nobody knows exactly who and when, all we know is that they were trying to replicate the Pastel de Belém but since the recipe is secret all they could do was a pastry that the only similarity it has to the Pastel de Belém is the way it looks. 🙂

Awesome stuff. I'm just not a fan of that Pastel de Nata + Port Wine but I think when I tried it they were giving a much smaller glass of wine that really disappointed me, this was a few years ago and never went back there again.

CASA DO ALENTEJO - Casa do Alentejo is located at Rua Portas de Santo Antão, 58, in the so-called Palácio dos Viscondes Alverca, built in the mid-17th century. The Palace's current material and immaterial heritage value lies in its interior, where the most luxurious Lisbon casino of the time, the Magestic Club, was established in 1919. Founded in 1923, the Casa do Alentejo was created to connect Alentejo residents throughout the country and the world with their own region.

Vinho Verde is named this way because the grapes are harvested before they are fully ripe, that is, still green.
@carlosmorais69513 ай бұрын
Quem te disse isso, é melhor informaste melhor, chama-se vinho verde por causa das castas e é colhido bem maduro
@KeithandDev3 ай бұрын
We actually did know that :) sorry we didnt mention it in the video!
