The problem with many Francesinhas in Porto is that don't put premium beef in it nor give that option, and sometimes you get a steak with a part that you just can't chew. I could be wrong, but those steaks at Santiago didn't look good, that's what happens when a restaurant gets famous, they also get greedy. Santiago was on my list, but not anymore, I won't fall for the hype.😆 To me the best sauce I've tried so far is from Yuko Tavern, but it had a disappointing steak. I'll give it a second chance to see if it was bad luck, because everything else was really good. Francesinha Café has better ingredients, but the sauce is tomatoey, reminded me the sauce you get on meat balls or ravioli, nothing against the sauce itself, it's just not the right flavor for a Francesinha, IMO.

Does this mean I can't tell things in English either if I am in Portugal, only in Portuguese? 😀

@AlexMarkTravel My friend, English is the international language to talk with everyone and this is normal! But when it's Portugal the people like to imitate the spanish. So why? With other countries nobody imitate if this country or language is like from his neighbour and are very interested to be very correct. With Portugal it's like "doesn't matter" and it's respectless. With spanish nobody mix something in portuguese......in this case everyone knows every detail or check it exactly before. And in your logic why someone which spanish isn't his motherlanguage , can or should speak spanish in Portugal? It's the same if I go to your country, I'm talking in portuguese and you should understand me🤣. Then I answer like you:"So it means I can't talk in english too?"🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 You are funny. In Portugal our language it's portuguese, if you don't like, it's your problem.

@@ricardorodrigues5964 I like Portuguese, but I can't speak it, but I speak some basic Spanish, so by default, I use some Spanish words, or if I read something I read it in Spanish, because I don't have a clue how to read/pronounce it in Portuguese! 😅 But I understand your frustration with this, so for the next time, I will try to learn some Portuguese, or at least the reading. 🍻
@ricardorodrigues596428 күн бұрын
@AlexMarkTravel If someone is serious and interested for something, it's easy to check by internet. In our digital time everyone has the all informations. Except if someone don't want! It's not understandable to connect something portuguese with spanish in reading, speaking etc. . You mix italian with spanish too? German with dutch? Or with other languages which are similar? Almost every language in Europe is similar and everybody respect everyone of it. And with portuguese it's usual to be treated not serious with respect, so why? Portugal is not spain! Languages can be similar, but similar it's not the same. They are Different!!! You and nobody can change the reality. Your explanation about "I don't know portuguese" is without any sense and it's not a reason to substitute something in something spanish. You talk about Portugal and language without to be sure!? Check it before! It's ridiculous! Thank goodness you and nobody can't change facts.

Alex ignore the troll, your video was wonderful, and even if you said Bacalhau with a Spanish accent, everyone understood that the mentioned food was bacalhau, Portuguese or Spanish languages are not that different after all. Next time in Portugal, you will need to try the seafood with a proper wine, although a bit more expensive, its worth it, as you will not eat better seafood anywhere else in the world! Keep-up doing mouth-water videos , just like you did with this one!

I would enjoy your videos more if you took smaller bites so you don't remind me of a chipmunk stocking up for winter...buon appetito! Mary

Thanks Mary! Yes, my wife was telling me the same, but I kind of forget especially when the food is delicious. 😅

I am from Porto and as a connoisseur, i know some places that will serve you a BAD( i mean, NOT GOOD, small, not tasty and expensive!!) francesinha, never to return there; in fact we only kn ow 2 places that serve EXCELLENT francesinha for 20 euros for 2 (10 euros a piece), we go there, me and the wife every week, wife is addicted LOL; these are modest Cafés on the outskirts, in Maia, just off the Porto mainstream; if you go to Tourist areas, you eat less and pay more, avoid; the Sweets, BOLOS!!!! oh, man, they are OUT OF CONTROL, TOO MUCH SUGAR, some are like poison, i need water at the same time to dilute that sugar; avoid

Thanks for sharing, of course nothing beats the knowledge of a local person! 😊🍻 Yeah, sweets like bolos shouldn't be eaten all the time.

Minute 6:30 24,70€ is a good price? You must be rich.
@AlexMarkTravelАй бұрын
For 11 pastries and 4 drinks, that was an excellent price, go to some other European country and compare the prices. Cheers! 🍻

In Lisbon this would cost almost double easily. Porto is not as bad as Lisbon since majority of the tourists go there or the Algarve.

@@doctorsilva1345 Thanks for your comment, this is why I also chose Porto as my first destination in Portugal. Cheers! 🙂🍻

It's not "chorizo". In Portugal we speak portuguese, not spanish! So in portuguese it calls "chouriço"! And in the Francesinha it's not chouriço, it's a different one which calls "Linguiça". The portuguese language should be respect like with other languages . With other languages nobody mix it with an other one, so don't mix portuguese with spanish. Portuguese it's Portuguese, simple!!!!!!
