And heres my son, in Hardvard. the point is how difficult is to get an admission in this two prestigious IIT N IIM in India. But so easy to get in Harvard.

Lily - God only helps those people who are willing to help themselves. Look at fairly religious Catholic regions like South America, Central America, and even Mexico. God does not seem to be helping the people that live within this area very much. If you really want things to happen, you have to take control of the situation!!! China is certainly not a very religious country but the people have taken control and risen through hard work, education, and a strategic plan...

I think the Indian education system is really bad, but the family culture is what makes the students so hungry. In India, it takes a village to raise a child. If your kid wants to be a musician or a dancer or something, your neighbors will complain about it, your extended family members will complain about it and you will be seen as a disgrace.

I disagree man, A village kid is raised for the main purpose of earning enough to support the family and this is encouraged to a child from the childhood and you can see the hardwork and dedication that the child puts in academically. They discourage them to focus on extra curricular activities because they believe that it's very risky and it actually is in India. Take a musician for example, he is payed less in India compared to the ones in America who make a fortune out of it. But a parent from a really well known school don't really force a child academically because they are thought well in the schools from the childhood. It really depends on what type of school a child studies in. The reason why CBSE and ICSE students do amazing in all fields.

@@Shoxnu.17 a good musician is paid anywhere the best he can earn, even in India. They must be motivated by their parents and peers since childhood. Read about the initial ages Shreya Ghoshal or Lata Mangeshkar began their first stage performance, and that was simply because their parents motivated them in that direction. And I don't think Sonu Nigam, Arijit or Shreya earn lesser than any medical or engineering professional in India, and rather earn 10x times or more. Indian school students lack vocational training and it shows when the colleges try to make them industry/job market-ready. Most of them are inefficient and have no clue about the practical applications of their mugged up knowledge. Stop talking like a caveman, who hasn't been out there since 4-5 decades or more.

@@SKNayak-gl4xtfirst of all I am saying this as a 17 year old. I think parent's motivation is important, but in the recent year parents are more inclined to motivate their kids to do either engineer or doctor. Heck India has more engineer than China, which is why India can see a shortcoming on teachers in the future. India is a growing country and its economy is growing higher and higher, with that growth I think parents also want their kids to be at least financially stable. The most financially stable jobs are doctors and engineers that a middle class family can pursue. Recent artists like Neha kakar and Badshah, when compared to other previous or some contemporary Indian artists, they are pretty bad. But they are still popular because they are rich as fuck, so they can get chances to make songs for a famous movie and spread their audiences. Then there is nepotism and all these factors are going on making things more complex. I guess this is why parents or even students just wants to choose to be either doctor or engineer. Maybe in the future when India becomes more globalized and produces more variety of stable jobs.....them the future might change. This is prety big Maybe though.

@@zeusolympus1664 also, I feel you are putting irrelevant things into an argument about education system. I understand you're frustrated about some trendy social media marketing, but that's not the point here. Parents of our generation do not know or even care about singers or actors, and are pretty much ignorant.

Me being from an CBSE board in India, I personally think every aspect of education is important not just science and math. Kids need sports, sleep, recreation, model based education rather than just making them sit in the class and lecture them for 8 hours straight, I'd think that'd be an utopia for learners who wants to succeed in life, teach them basic medicine, how to do tax calculations along with traditional syllabus such as science and math along with civil rights, sports etc...

@@KeithBallardEdu yes china is doing far better than india in infrastructure and it's universities are being ranked higher.But in both the countries students are frustrated due to extremely difficult competitive entrance exams,narrow carrer choices,old curriculum and no space for anything else than studies. It is a system which brings up the best and burries the inferior.Societal pressure is hampering students mental health.Many even decide to end their life's. Basically all overpopulated developing south asian countries are in same state.More seekers than finding. But atleast in India we can complain.

In my opinion, why the education percentage is not good in America comparing with an Asian countries because of the Government law against the parent. The parents should be given the power to do whatever to their children, let the parents beat their children. Why to sue our own parent, if they beat us to bring us out from wrong to right or to have a bright future.
@NotMyUsualPersona
@NotMyUsualPersona 5 жыл бұрын
Welp, to be honest, if it is a parent who is home drunk and taking out his frustration on children, I think he should be sued. Don't get me wrong, there should be limits to reprimanding even if it is violent. That being said, yes I too do believe that simply scolding does not work for many kids. When I was in tenth grade, I became too overbearing and also got into the wrong company. My dad slapped me twice right in front of the whole school. At that time, I felt very uneasy but now when I see those guys (most of them have addictions of all kinds), I literally pray for my dad's long life and we'll being. I am doing well today and I am satisfied even though many would consider that incident in other countries as violation of some right.

Thats not actually right cause in India parents want/ wish thier children to become a government servant , officer IPS , IAS. Govt. Jobs are more than just a safety net, its like gold mine. And dont forget the reservation system from castes, gender to ex army personal. This is also makes frustrating to people with merit. Now days the competition is so high some students are doing suicide even if they dont get admission in a specific collage or their grades are slightly low And thats the reality. For most of Indians education is the only key of survival.
