Yeah because that's how a lot of churches competed with each other by having more bits of dead saints or of more esteemed saints, cause that was how you got pilgrims to come and more pilgrims meant more donations. So saint grave robbing, theft and counterfeits became a huge problem.

Crying Grudge is the one point in this game that the writing falls flat for me. He's so normal, in the middle of such a weird setting. Doesn't sell him being an alien deity at all.

I can kinda see that, but considering demons and gods are just aliens fork other worlds it could be that they are just naturally stronger, not even necessarily a deity to themselves.
