He loves us so much that He humbles Himself & stays in a piece of bread & wine, body , blood, soul & divinity. And wants us to consume Him. I wasn't Catechised in the Catholic Church as a boy I attended an Anglican Protestant School. I was Baptised Anglican as a child in the trinity. Later in my 20's an Anglican friend of mine tried to pick apart a Catholic friends faith by saying Mary is not holy and the Catholic faith is incorrect but I new instantly he was wrong. I was also struck by the simplicity and low wages a Catholic Priest lives on compared to an Anglican Vicar this told me by the Anglican and Catholic friends . I have to admit I was tempted at times to go to an American Evangelical Church but people who had been, told me it was too full on and appeared a little too interested in your donations and it was making some strange Appostles. Any how I started with my wife as a Catholic in my mid 20s and after much reading on the Church and Saints and going to Mass, praying the Rosary I became Catholic. The Church makes sense when you fully understand the faith. Oh I have to say my Mom had a Rosary and a Picture of Pope John Paul when I was a kid I think maybe her love of the Rosary guided me although she was an Anglican

I wish Protestants knew more about ... 1) the true history of their own faith and the true history of the Catholic Church starting when it was founded by Jesus 2) the fullness of the faith, all the devotions, prayers, feast days, saints, writings etc. that bring such richness and history to our faith - i.e., there is more to our Faith that we can experience than reading the Bible (as necessary and wonderful as that is) 3) Mass is held every day. We can hear the gospel and other teachings of the Bible at Mass every day 4) You can go to Adoration, Confession on certain days or just sit before the Tabernacle (in the presence of Jesus) whenever the Church is open. Many Churches are open all day, every day for people to drop in and pray. 5) we believe in helping others in need as part of our dedication to Jesus. 6) Catholic missionaries have been establishing Churches, Schools, & Hospitals and converting others to the faith for 2000 years. 7) the Catholic Church commissioned a lot of beautiful and old sacred music and art that can be enjoyed to this day by all 8) No matter where you are traveling there is probably a local Catholic Church that can be attended for Mass on Sunday 9) not all priests are good at delivering homilies, but we are not there for that, so it is not as important to us. We are there for the Eucharist. 10) Mass is not for socializing; it is for reverent worship. Socializing takes place outside of Mass. Many neighborhood churches are attended by the same neighbors, school mates and family members you see all the time during the week so there is not as much of a need to visit with each other on Sunday. Plus, you have to get home to make Sunday dinner.

Mother Church? Is this the biblical church of the bible, referred to as the Bride of Christ. Christ is our brother, a joint heir. How can the church be our mother, when WE ARE the church?
@alecfoster441311 ай бұрын
@@Jesus_is_Lord_24-7 It's an expression, like Britain is the "mother country" of the United States. In this case, all other Christian churches can trace themselves to the original church founded by Christ himself; the Catholic Church. I suggest you study history and theology. Actively listening to Keith's videos are a good start.
@Jesus_is_Lord_24-711 ай бұрын
@@alecfoster4413 The expression is lost when it brings confusion to understanding the church. We agree that Christ founded the church, and established it with himself being the head. With Christ as the head, there is no need for a pope. When you say the "Catholic Church", I am guessing you mean the Roman Catholic Church. The true church, the bride of Christ, is catholic by nature, since it is worldwide. When the pope accepts worship at his feet, he is robbing God of glory, rather than bringing glory to God. When people pray to Mary or the saints, they do not understand that all prayer is to be to God. Christ taught his disciples how to pray and prayer is always to God the Father.

And kindly refrain from telling us Roman Catholics what we believe in, OK? It is bearing false witness and, frankly, is defamatory and pretty disgusting. NOBODY worships the Pope (that would be a heresy) and the Hail Mary is an intercession request for her to PRAY FOR US (as are prayers tied to other saints). I really don't understand people like you. I'm Catholic...my wife is Lutheran. When I would attend services at the Lutheran Church, ushers and other members were confused as to why I wouldn't take Communion at their services....I had a member and an usher literally drag me from the the pew the join the communion...I even had an usher tell me "it's ok...you can take communion...all are welcome here." It got to the point where I sent the Sr. Pastor an email that as a practicing Catholic, we practice closed Communion and I cannot take Communion in a Protestant Church..... Later, I had a volunteer at that Lutheran Church tell me that the pastor was bothered by the fact I wouldn't take Communion from him. They would have Church meetings where they would joke about saying Our Father and Hail Mary or being recovering Catholics.....Funny thing is, my wife attends Mass with me....they know she is Lutheran and the Priests and Deacons are very welcoming to her. We even had the Priest sit with us during a Lenten Fish Fry dinner and we had a great conversation.

What a refreshing take on Catholicism. Others that have posted pro-Catholic videos vehemently reject Protestantism. Over the years my heart has softened to Catholicism, to where I truly see y'all as brothers and sisters in Christ. The unity that Christ prayed for comes from videos like this. I have presented the "intersession of the saints" concept to other Protestants (which I learned from the Catholic catechism.) Thank you so much for your passion on this Keith! Your struggle with those around you comes through, too-the pain of not being listened to and understood. I pray for your peace. Sometimes we have to reconcile with the fact that people's ears are closed. I once talked with a guy 45 minutes about Christ and God and all of it. It was an awesome combo, we linked up on a lot of things. But at one point he said he'd shoot the Pope if he could. I let it slide without comment, but upon parting I made a plea for him to not harbor hate in his heart and be merciful because of how much mercy God shows us. He started to say that he didn't have anger towards anyone- but I interjected (trying to be light), 'Well you did say you want to murder the Pope!' His response was miffed, 'Yeah but I have my reasons...', and then muttered something about how Catholics wouldn't listen (I'd not told him I was Catholic). He promptly scooted away annoyed (no more appreciation or smiles or good will gesture). Maybe he felt caught in his own duplicity, called out on a contradiction he didn't want to face. I just prayed for God to have mercy. But I think it illustrates the degree of resentment many harbor about the Church (he was ex-Catholic) and that is fed by a constant propaganda machine. Unfortunately, it creates a half-way Christianity. As Catholics, we feel deeply the struggle to accept and forgive brothers and sisters among us with whom we do not agree. For some of us, that's the Pope himself. But this just makes us trust Christ and the Holy Spirit even more! It asks us to constantly stretch beyond what's comfortable for us and seek the greater purpose in our obedience to the Body of Christ. And in my experience, this just leads to an ever deeper and more constant interior link to His graces. We realize the depth of riches in the Church far outweighs whatever impoverishment we might feel at the surface. This should just inspire us to work even harder to go digging for the riches and bring them back to the surface so that the whole Body of the Church can grow and be renewed. Also wanted to mention: I think it's because of the amazingness of the Eucharist that Catholics, maybe especially very devout ones, do not speak in braggadocious tones about a "personal relationship with Jesus." As you rightly point out, of course it's that-but it's also so much more than even that phrase suggests. When I leave mass, I'm often so full of God's presence in peace that I hardly even want to speak. When I encounter people in that state, I just radiate God's love and joy to them, totally without plan or intention or thinking about it. Through the Eucharist you just give yourself to Christ and he starts disposing of your liberty as He wills. That is more than relationship, that's absorption and assimilation into His Body. (Maybe you should get your Protestant friends copies of _Jesus Our Eucharistic Love_ by Fr Stefano Manelli, maybe that would help...) P.S. Keith I'm a CR native and must have worshipped with you at ICC last June when I was back for a visit. Also a convert. Keep fighting the good fight and be at peace! God's got this. Also, I always try to remember when I get frustrated- It's we who need Him, not He us. 🙏

Thank you Keith your videos are so helpful in my journey with Christ guided by the Catholic Church. Before joining the Holly Catholic Church i made inquiries to several protestant churches and the Islamic church as well. First the Moslems spent most of the time trying to prove to me that Christianity isn t authentic. After our discussion i could hardly remember anything positive they said about Islam. But i went ahead and read the bible verses they attacked. That made me a Christian. The protestants likewise were "the catholic church this and that" hardly any could say anything about their churches that convinced me. So i researched about the Holly Catholic Church. Lo and behold i discovered my home and new love. God bless you and continue the great job.

When did Jesus ever bow to graven images, pray to the dead, or promote a "church" that says you should BTK all the "heretics" and Protestants in an infallible "holy" inquisition, or design and build any of the gruesome torture instruments themselves?? Luke 9:56. And when did Jesus establish a church whose leader adopts a title _whose very definition_ means Antichrist (in the place of Christ)? Vicar of Christ, the pope's official title, means "in the place of Christ," as does _Antichrist._

Keith one of the things that I can’t understand is that Protestants can believe that Ezekiel a prophet can be taken to heaven body and soul, but the Mother of God can’t be taken as well. She was born without original sin to give birth to our Lord and Savior. A Holy and unstained pure womb for our Lord Jesus to be born through. Hence the Mother of God. If the Blessed Mother was not pure, our Lord would be just a prophet and not the Savior.

I tried to "easily demolish the Catholic faith" a couple years ago. I am a Catholic today because of that effort. Protestants: be very careful wading into that fight! You will find that many of the things we stood on confidently are actually very weak and wobbly at best under close scrutiny. Be warned: once you start discovering this you can't take it back. If you are an honest and sincere person you will end up a Catholic yourself in the end, once having studied all the apologetical evidence. 2 years into this journey I can say it's the best thing that ever happened to me!

@donm-tv8cm2 жыл бұрын
@@traceyh4803 Look, I don't go for that nonsense of my truth is my truth and your truth is your truth; there is only THE truth. Which I found hugely inconvenient for myself when I studied this stuff because the last thing I wanted to do was become a Catholic. To more directly answer your question, I'd say it would depend upon your understanding of church history and the church fathers as well as knowing your Bible. There's also how much in you are into the anti-catholic programming you received growing up in your church (though I received a LOT, but I eventually opened up in view of the facts). But yes, I would dare say the facts are so solid and compelling that if you are knowledgeable in all these areas and you still reject the apologetical evidence, you're not being entirely honest with yourself, at some level. Or that you're perhaps not entirely sincere about serving God in the best way possible. Many people nominally want to serve God, but they are not at the level of Christian discipleship, which is that 100% committed level where they will make whatever changes they're called to make even if it's something they don't want to do.

I agree Keith, well said. Personally what irritates me is Protestants who do not include Mary in their church or their lives. Mary is the most important lady in Jesus's life- his mother and is the Queen of Heaven. No we do not worship her...that is for our Lord but we honour and respect our lady, daily.

God used an adoration chapel near me in a very profound way on my journey to Catholicism. It wasn’t just the Presence of Jesus, it was seeing people adore Him in ways that I’d never seen in decades of Protestantism. They were obviously, truly encountering Jesus. I wanted to have what they had, and become who they were. I didn’t just meet Jesus in the adoration chapel. I met living saints whose love and devotion to Him changed me forever.

@@Kitiwake One only has to be dead to be an officially canonized Saint (officially determined by the Church that they have been perfectly sanctified and are in Heaven). @@Kitiwake no dying don't make you a saint just that is after a saintly person dies that all the steps are taken to get the approval from heaven that the people was really a saint while alive... In the bible St Paul called living christians Saints so calling a leaving person a saint by his actions and words is not too wrong but just that no one can be canonized while alive coz no one knows if you're real or if you will remain faithful till death... Many saints were seen or considered as saints while alive and that's what motivates the church to open a canonisation case for such people...
