All I can remember is the food and I think there was a monkey garden somewhere (better stay away - literally once bitten twice shy) . We lived in Petaling Jaya (my dad's favorite eating spot is where you filmed one of your previous videos - Stacia was eating, you were watching). Anyway, we would make the trip up to Penang once a year for the beach, and for the Char Kway Teow and the Assam Laksa. Back in those days, Penang was known to have the best street food in Malaysia. Haven't been back since my early teens. Lived in the US since I was 19 so now I live vicariously through KZbin vloggers!

Penang is actually a huge city, with super highways and all. But never do you feel like you are in a big city. It feels cosy and relaxingly small. Thats really a good thing for a big city to have.

Hey great drone shots. Love your videos as we just did a similar trip a few weeks before you to KL, Langkawi and Penang. It's a shame you didn't know that you could have walked up to the Buddha it's less than a 10min walk. We did it a few weeks before you shot this video. It's a pity that you didn't get to the top to see the GuanYin statue. Talking about luck, maybe you could meditate, clear your mind, align your energy. Since you're in Penang, you can try this sensory deprivation floating experience. It's not for everyone though. I was in Penang, I tried it because I've been researching about sensory deprivation floating and am curious. If you want, you can search for "float for health Penang" in TripAdvisor. You'll have to call to pre-book a session. Happy traveling!

Actually you can walk up to the biggest guanyin statue instead of taking the trolley. But you need to used other path. Only locals know how to get there.

Yup, is tiring but we will take a bike ride to go up lol. During chinese new year the temple is crowded because everyone is rushing there to take a nice photography or to view the beautifully lit up lanterns. Yes, there's a road for cars that can go all the way up to the top. Ppl can walk up through that road from the bottom trolley station (the huge gift shop). It's a pity that you missed the last part of the temple. Yes they should have just tell you that you can walk up.

Stacia Sleight hey, I actually did not plan to go there at first because im not a Buddhist but I’m interested to see how up there and also interested to seeing the amazing architecture of the temple. Yes i walk climb until the very top of the temple and I remember it’s very crowded that time cause so many people go up there to pray. I think it might during praying festival and also there are many tourists to go there that time. It was amazing view from up there.

Another suggestion, maybe you should promote your social media more in your videos. So when you're traveling, you could use some real-time help from local subscribers. For the b roll shots, do you zoom in and out while moving to get the vertigo effect or it's all done in post? I have been unfortunate on that a7iii buy since they are all sold out and the local stores never order any unless you pay an additional reserve fee which is ridiculous. Even of you find one on Amazon, it takes couple months for them to ship. Another thing, do you get the colors in camera or you use a custom lut in post? Thanks!

Hey man! I do a combination of both manual zoom and depending on the footage I may do a little in post. I color correct then colorgrade all my b-roll The A7iii is a super popular camera right now because it’s pretty much the best camera for the money. Sony knocked it out of the park with this one. DeathByVlog Thank you for such a thoughtful response. I use the a6500 but as a hobbyist I mainly just shoot family get togethers(mostly photographs). I could go with the canon 6dii for that full frame look but for the money it doesn't offer any more than what I already have. You two definitely inspire a lot of us who have the gear but don't necessarily make the most of it.

You all got bad bad luck in malaysia,i don't know why and i feel sorry for/to you two,maybe from the first place you need to change your vlog name deathbyvlog to luckyvlagRS - ryan and stacia,and then try to seek something more spiritual and friendly aurora in malaysia,by visiting their mosque but not just visiting but also seek for the people who in charge to tht mosque and try to talking with them and makes friends. But now there was a second one, we feel it’s just not a safe time to be there. We are cancelling our accommodations and possibly going to Vietnam for 30 days instead.
