When interlocking there’s the “Y” method . That way you don’t go in the same loop when interlocking again . Just split your new growth and see if it makes a “Y” then you’d interlock the opposite way that you see the Y to prevent holes (for anyone new to interlocking)

It has been quite a while since I have seen clear video’s addressing retightening methods. So thank you very much for sharing this video with us. I have been loc’d for 4.5 years, ( I have a bit over 400, locs, so the only method that works for me is interlocking) but this is the first time I have witnessed a two point rotation. Your locs looks really good. And it is great to see someone taking the time to straighten out the parts to keep the lines clean and crisp. That was really refreshing to witness. I tried the three point rotation a few times, but it didn’t seem to make much sense to me... so I have been sticking to a four point rotation. I tend not to use any products when I retighten though besides rose water because the lint and buildup is way too real, and I am not a fan of lint at all. I think I retighten between every 5-6 weeks, but I am never sure because it seem like that timeline pops up like every other day. It’s crazy!!! But anywho, very cool video, and thank you for giving us a look at your loc journey!!! 👍🏾👌🏾

3 point only made sense once I did it on myself. Using your terminology starting point north -->south west ---->east south---->north west ----east north --->south west----->east south---> north west------> east some people would argue its supposed to be north south/east west/south north, east west but I think as long as you're consistent with the direction you should be ok. I haven't decided if when I reinstall whether I'll be doing 3 or 4point but my first set laughed at 2 point rotation reties. I spent more time every month doing reties then it took to install and I took down when they started forming larger than I wanted. Your hair looks nice, neat and xrispy!

@KekeJ3 жыл бұрын
Do you prefer retwisting over interlocking? Also, does the retwist create more volume over time than the interlocking for you? Because I want as much volume as possible lol
@gracefullystacy3 жыл бұрын
@@KekeJ Yes I prefer twisting because it takes a lot less time. I don't get anymore volume though. I like my hair best when it 's time for a retwist because that's when I have the most volume. That's probably the only thing I miss about loose natural hair...the ability to take my pick and manipulate my roots for volume. Now I can't do that. I like the look of my grid after a fresh retwist, but the volume doesn't come back until a few weeks later.

I started my own microlocs on type 4 hair. I use the 3 point rotation. up (south to north), left (east to west) and then down (n to s). to continue rotation go back left (e to w) then up (s to n) then you're back at the beginning of the rotation to start again. I hope I explained that in a good way lol its so confusing to type out. I have 434 locs but im thinking about combing some. I tried 2 point rotation but it seems like I always have to retie earlier than expected? I feel like the 3 point gives me more structure to tame my kinky hair but your 2 point looks really good. Your locs shouldn't be thicker than the hair at the base or it can cause painful reties once its fully locd but the 4 point rotation feels like it takes forever to do lol.

Hello, thanks for sharing. I am currently installing my own microlocs. Everyone is saying 2 and 3 pt rotations on type 4a/4b/4c hair isn't safe long term and that the hair will break off, is it safe if I have 3c/4a/4b hair?
