Oh no, it's me again! I have to second Amanda Washburn's comment about Jessie Mueller. You MUST react to Jessie and Joshua Henry recording this song in studio for the revival cast album of Carousel. It is literally breathtaking. I am a HUGE Gordon MacRae fan, and when I heard Joshua Henry sing, I was so blown away by how much he captures such a similar sound. Just perfection all around! And one more recommendation, Laura Michelle Kelly! She did a concert with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir I believe, where she sang a load of Rogers and Hammerstein; so beautiful! Also, any footage of her in "The King and I" is golden.

You should definitely listen to It All Fades Away by Steven Pasquale, and One Second and a Million Miles by Steven Pasquale and Kelli O'Hara! They're both from the musical Bridges of Madison County and the music is by Jason Robert Brown, and they sound absolutely incredible. And this isn't a legit style, but I also highly recommend reacting to the LA production of Bare: a Pop Opera (I think its listed on KZbin as Bare: a Rock Musical). It is amazing and I love all the songs in it, but if I had to choose for a reaction, I would recommend Role of a Lifetime by Payson Lewis or All Grown Up by Lindsay Pearce

I grew up with this type of music and really enjoy hearing Kelli O'Hara sing. I would definitely include her along with my favorite sopranos of the first half of the 20th century. They were Jane Powell, Ann Blythe, Irene Dunne, Jeanette MacDonald, Kathryn Grayson, and Barbara Cook.

Thank you for reacting to Kelli. She really is phenomenal and doesn’t get enough attention. I believe you’re the only one who has done a reaction video on her. I had the good fortune of seeing her in concert in Boston a few years back and she was so good and she was performing sick. She was so apologetic that her voice wasn’t what it should be but she was a trooper and gave us everything she had. Love her! You should also react to Heather Headley. She has so many great songs and one of my favorites is My House from the Broadway show Fun Home. There are many others so you can’t go wrong with her.

Queen Kelli, yes!!!! I’d be very curious about your thoughts on Wallis Giunta and Renee Fleming. Both are primarily opera singers who have done some crossover into MT, and is be curious about your perspective as an mt vocalist. Personal faves for Wally are her Something’s coming (WSS), Send in the Clowns & the miller’s son (ALNM), and a little bit in love (Wonderful town) For Renee: if you can find her doing dividing day from light in the piazza, it is absolutely breathtaking, but sadly impossible to find a full version online. Otherwise, look for her Fable, you’ll never know from shape of water, lay down your head from violet, you’ll never walk alone and unusual way from nine

Other personal fave legit vocalists: Kate Baldwin: saw her in concert at lyric opera in Chicago (one of the largest in the country), only used a mic once (belting I can cook too), and easily kept up with famed opera singers Susan Graham & Nathan Gunn, incredible Kristen Chenoweth: of course, her glitter and be gay is iconic for a reason. My personal role model. Also love her in on the 20th century, phantom (Yeston & kopit), music man & her bring him home and maybe this time Madeline Kahn: yes, from young Frankenstein. Unbelievable coloratura. Adore her glitter & be gay, you’d be surprised (Irving Berlin), Golden ram (two by two), and even her lily in on the 20th century is pretty damn funny, even with the drama surrounding it Meghan Hilty: look up her the golden ram. What more do I have to say. Also her taking the end of no one mourns the wicked up to an e6 for shits & giggles. Iconic.

It is a song told from the point of view of Eliza Schuyler, Alexander Hamilton’s wife, as a reaction to the recount of his affair in the Reynolds Pamphlet, in lieu of “Burn” from the Original Broadway Cast Recording of Hamilton.
