What really angers me is NHS staff wanting to be addressed by their 'preferred pronouns' but in recent months whilst attending medical appointments I have been addressed by my Christian name by everyone from receptionists/nurses/doctors/consultants all of whom I have never met before. I'm old enough to remember when patients were always addressed as Miss/Mrs/Mr. No one has asked me how I want to be addressed. Familiarity breeds contempt. I'm a patient NOT their best friend.

I think these men missed the point. KJK is well known in the trans activist community. The staff member wearing the badge would have access to KJK's records, including her kids medical records, address, phone numbers etc. KJK stated she didn't feel safe attending that surgery that is clearly an activist establishment because they are all going to be wearing those ideology badges. Those activists are feral. As she stated they have already come for her kids, threatening her on her phone, threatening her children. They almost killed her in NZ last year.

They talk as if their point of view is self-evidently the “kind” one and KJK’s is “unkind”, and therefore their view should be treated preferentially. They are “inclusive”, i.e. nice to everyone, i.e. no innocent person is in any way disadvantaged by their ideology, and therefore only their ideology is acceptable. Of course, plenty *are* actually disadvantaged by what they advocate: female patients who want a female nurse, girls on sport teams, children being “transitioned”, etc. KJK is not simply being nasty, exclusionary, and devoid of compassion. She is protecting people. You can disagree of course, but you can’t pretend there is something fundamentally and objectively “bad” about her position which warrants it being treated completely differently to the opposing position.

I absolutely agree with Kellie-Jay but GP practices are private businesses. They get paid to put up the NHS logo by the NHS. When the NHS was started family doctors were against it so the state decided to "stuff their mouths with silver" wiith a fee per doctor, pension contributions and an uplift for other staff and profit just as it did with dentists. Hospitals are run by state-controlled/owned bodies but GP surgeries aren't. The government can put in contractual requirements but if it goes too far GP practices can do what dentists did and all go private.

Talking of '' a political statement'', i sent a complaint to boots about the pharmacist wearing a Palestine badge, the reply stated the store management will rectify this as a training issue. A month on & she is still wearing it. Be great if media made an enquiry regarding policy. I can imagine the horror felt by those affected by Oct 7th slaughter stumbling upon such a statement from somebody they were looking to entrust. I agree, when I worked in health care in NZ my political and religious beliefs depended on what patient room I walked into. During my hours of work, I never concerned anyone by my personal beliefs.
