Today i was in a cafe just doung my phone work having a cup of tea. At the next table sat 3 old ladies. i listened to their conversation, one wad saying that she was terrified of him, another asked 'why does he hate us so much ? While the other was recounting her sleepless nights. Their conversation went on in this vein for some time and they were talking about starmer. I can well imagine that millions of pensioners feel the same, deeply worried, very concerned and disturbed. It is clear to me that pensioners, (as well as younger people) are stressed and deeply worried about this thug and bully , and fear for their lives and future. Pensioners should not be made to live in fear of a so called prime minister who's primary mandate, in any half civilised society, should be to protect them and care for their well being and safety. I tell you this, i am now ashamed to be part of the human race. You may always accyratelybjudge a nation or a government by the way it treats its vulnerable and its aged. Those who sit by and watch this hijacking of our country and its values turned upside down by these thugs and communists, will have tobaccount for it one day much sooner than they think. What I can’t understand with these older people is ……If like me that lived in houses with no central heating ever ,there was just a coal fire …then in later years my parents had a gas fire put in the lounge …That was in the late 1960s…..Do none of them remember this ???In 1966 I went to live in Vancouver Canada and lived in a house that had warm air central heating ( no radiators) It was great …and before everybody thinks Vancouver is cold ,It is not ……but can be very rainy….I LOVED IT…..The Australians I met in Canada , used to call English people whining Limes …How right they were……I really dislike living in England now but alas I am to old to leave now at 84….

Britain's old age pension is one of the lowest in Europe. 13 other countries pay a much higher pension. There's no need then for an extra winter fuel benefit as it's enough pension to cover. Yes it will also depend on the cost of living, though that would usually be taken into account. There are other countries, of course, which pay lower than UK.

The issue with the Labour landlord is why the Renters Bill is struggling to get through parliament because there are far too many MP's from all sides who would be adversely affected by it if the bill became law which is why MP's from all sides are trying to get to stopped from becoming law. There is far to much conflict of interests with MP's in the UK because they have the power to prevent bills that can affect them from becoming law irrespective of the fact that the bill could help the UK public. That is how you can tell if MP's have a vested interest in a bill. If it flies through and becomes law, no MP's are affected BUT if a bill struggles to get through and has to go through many re-writes and changes it is because there are MP's that will be affected by the bill.

@@sakhter4044 That is a conflict of interest and thus should exclude them from making any decisions or votes on housing/renting because as we have seen with the Labour MP, he is a slum/rogue landlord and thus the renters Bill would affect him massively. When it comes to voting the bill through there is no way he is going to vote in favour of it because he knows it would affect him badly. Therefore he is putting the rights of himself first before that of the public which is wrong.

I have been in some disgusting houses/ flats. It was like going back in the victorian era.. i couldn't believe it. Some landlords are on the ball. Some are slum landlords for greed. Went into a house last week, 20 people living in a 3 bedroom house. People in outhouses. Not on the regular news.

The calibre of the candidates standing at the last election, and for many elections before that, was pretty low. I don't think we are the only country suffering from this phenomena of piss poor politicians either.

Wrong. In the ‘Old’ days it was not normal to get all these ridiculous A’s and Apluses. Never happened. There were much higher standards and expectations. I don’t like Sir and have no respect for his emotional intelligence. Passing exams does not give you EQ.
