You can also use either old powdered makeup or cheap dollar tree powdered makeup and distilled water in the glass jars. When you shake them, it's a very cool and simple effect. Make sure the top is sealed so it doesn't leak or evaporate out. I really love how this turned out, I have a larger apothecary collection on my bookshelf in my bedroom, year round decor 🖤

Those shelves were pretty deep. I would have measured n cut it down the middle with my bandsaw and had 2 shelves units. You would have to back one of units but thats easy. Looks great!!!
