Once upon a time, probably 4 or 5 years ago, I learned about the website What's Up Nails, which introduced me to nail vinyls and stamping. I loved having fun stuff on my nails, so I decided to try them. I had really great success at first and loved stamping, but overtime my stamper transferred fewer and fewer images, until I could not get it to stamp anything. I tried everything; I cleaned it, I buffed it, etc. Nothing worked. So I bought a new stamper only to have the same experience. Eventually I gave up, so annoyed that I had purchased so many stamping plates (and even a binder) and I couldn't do anything with them. I kept them in a closet, convinced one day I would be able to figure out it and have fun stamping again. This is where you come in, Kelli. I had NO idea I wasn't supposed to use acetone to clean it, none of the material I ever watched said that. I had no clue you could clean it with scotch tape. So I unknowingly ruined more than one stamper, all because I simply didn't know. The second part of the story, I have seen many nail artists use reverse stamping, and always assumed they were super duper speedy. I had no idea until one of your viewers told you about sticky base coat that that is what they were using! None of the videos I ever watched showed that step. I haven't ever tried reverse stamping, because I was still in a stamping funk, but I'm glad I now know how to do it. A lot of the comments mention how grateful they are because you show the step by step, and they finally figured out a piece of the puzzle they didn't know they were missing. Well, I am grateful that you have your 101 series where you show all the steps for first timers who don't know what they're doing, because no one else that I have seen does that. But I am also grateful that you either show or mention what you're doing, even if it isn't a 101 video. I tried stamping again the other day with a new stamp and I actually had success. Who knows how long it would have taken me to figure out what I was doing incorrectly had it not been for your videos. So, thank you. And if you made it to the end of this comment (which is, I'm pretty sure, the longest comment I have ever written on KZbin) you win the prize. A cookie, that you have to get yourself. Haha Thank you again. 💜💜💜 Also, your designs are BEAUTIFUL! I can't wait to get this stamp so I can have fun with it!!

Kelli- your stamping designs / color choices / layouts are THE BEST. When I choose which design to stamp with which color to lay on which background it ends up looking like a horrid fever dream. But when you pick a design and stamp it on a background with a certain color it just all works! And looks amazing. I guess that is why you are a talented nail content creator and brand collab person and I am just a fan. Point being - PLEASE make more nail stamping videos! Particularly seasonal stamping options. Like fall, Halloween, holiday, spring, summer, vacation, etc. Oh! and also can your Maniology and MoYou London collabs still be purchased? The links do not seem to work. For anyone who would like to pick up stamping I would recommend going over the no smudge with any random topcoat you might like for longevity. Since the no smudge is water-based the more you wash your hands the more likely it is to break down and ruin your hard work. I love these designs, Kelli, you're much better at stamping than me but I'm still learning.

I experienced that too, with the No Smudge top coat from Moyou London. It definitely doesn't smudge the design, but like you said, it is not resistant against water😬

I have the same thing happen to me, where the glossy top coat peels off the no smudge top coat, so ill just use a regular glossy top coat, but then regret not using the smudge free when it smudges.

Was anyone else confused when already had bonder out but then used a different sticky basecoat for the transfer? 😆 Also you can save a lot of stamping polish if you just paint a stripe where the image starts. Unless it's a really long image or a long image with a lot of negative space there is no need to cover the entire image.

These look really cool! Another suggestion for an advanced stamping design could be a gradient on the stamping plate. Take a bigger design (you will need a little more space) and apply 2 or more colours next to each other on the design. Then scrape - try to blend the colours a little bit while doing so. If your aiming for a good blend try to use colours in the same colour scheme 😊

I didn’t know there was an Alice in wonderland nail stamp collection. Moyou apparently is sold out of the good Alice plates so I had to search all over the web until I found someone that is selling the same plate you used. Had to have it. But now I’ve seen the Moyou travel plates and really want to get my hands on the London and italy ones. This is gonna be a slippery slope for me.

Hi - thought I would share a tip I use to get those excess bits off the stamper. I take a wooden cuticle stick and wrap the flat end with some blue painters tape sticky side out. I wrap it 6 or 7 times, as you use it you can peal off the outer layer and tear off and use the fresh tape underneath. I can usually get through a whole stamping manicure from 1 wrapping. Super great control and use very little tape.

Another way for the dry design to stick to the nail is to apply it before the base color fully dries (you know that stage where it seem dry but you can still make a dent) - that way you don't have to add another layer or wait for the base to be completely dry.

The streaks usually dry so quickly and are so thin that they just don't pick up. If you keep having trouble with it, try using less polish and scraping twice.

I started a little over a year ago & for the longest time all I could find for reverse stamping was decal making. I'd get something beautiful and destroy it peeling it up or wrinkle it putting it on.
