I have done this many times sometimes i will get paid and within a week it is gone then other times I double and triple it only to lose it again I bet on sports and pokies and roulette it’s cost me over $100K in the 7 years probably more

Going through a tough time with gambling at the minute. It’s an illness and people don’t understand what it’s like if they haven’t been through it. I’m glad I’ve got an understanding family and fiancée who are going to get me the right support. Great to hear a story and there is light at the end of the tunnel

This happens to me I have to stop NOW,I won 2000 2 days ago money cleared yesterday and I'm now back to 600 what I started with,when you step back and look at it I won over a month's wages and didn't think of it as real money once its scary

Learn about the Law of Large Numbers. Gambling is not gambling. You are giving away your money in a game that is designed to make you lose the more you bet. It is a mathematical fact. Nobody beats the odds of the Casino.

​@@Christizm Well I hope you are not doing that no more man. You gamble once in a blue moon during a vacation, MAYBE you will win. You gamble on a regular basis, you will surely lose. That is a straight up mathematical fact. Its like this. The chances of a coin landing heads or tails is 50/50. But it does not mean that if you flip it the first 10 times you will get 5 heads or 5 tails. It could be that all 10 can be heads. But try tossing it say 1000 times, then you will get a score of something very close to 500 heads, and 500 tails. Now imagine any casino game where in the chance of a favorable outcome for any player is a lot less that 50%. Eventually the more he plays the more he is just going to lose. That is the law of large numbers for you.

It’s really hard to avoid gambling. I lost everything because of this addiction and now more debts are filing up. I did try not to go back and gambled again but after a month or so my urgency kicks in and it’s hard for me to stop 😢 I do hope that I can overcome this traumatic and depressing addiction…

Anyone else on this thread been on a drug called Ropinirole or similar please? I have… and it causes obsessive gambling in a quite small, but still significant, percentage of people. Casinos feast on people like this. I’d love to win their money. If I’m ever in a casino, I explain standard deviations and how they relate to games of chance. I’ve actually pulled players off these games, seeing them pick up their chips, cash out and leave. The casinos lose more money from this than they stand to lose to me by counting cards at blackjack.
