Kelly Clarkson HINTS at Stars That Were RUDE After She Won American Idol

Kelly Clarkson hinted at the stars that were rude to her after she won ‘American Idol’ in 2002 during ‘Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen’ on Tuesday night. The singer previously mentioned that celebs were ‘mean’ to her while she was competing on the hit competition show during a 2021 episode of ‘The Kelly Clarkson Show.’ Kelly also shut down the rumors that there’s beef between her and fellow ‘American Idol’ winner Carrie Underwood.

People that had a harder time coming up were just bitter. Its not just about work ethic, its luck and opportunity, networking with the right people and being in the right place at the right time. You can work your butt off and never make it, so trying to pretend that there are dues to pay just bc you had to pay them....its more than just rude. It shows a lack of gratitude and self awareness. Kelly is a beautiful soul and a tremendous talent, and no matter how she came to be we are glad yo have her!

the funny thing is is that it was just a contract deal; its still up to the individual artists to be successful at it. the fact that only a few people on these shows have went on to have sustained careers (like kelly and carrie) shows that its not the easy way to fame and fortune that a lot of people think it is. you still have to have the skill and selling abilities to make it a lasting career

Besides being very authentic and honest from what I can witness through tv shows etc. Kelly deserves 5 stars. She can actually sing without using vocal manipulating hightec gears. She does have one of the most astonishing ability to sing with great depth and width to her vocalizations without obvious breaks from low(chest) to high (head).

You also have to think that singers before the show had to work harder to get noticed. They didn't have American idol as a platform to give them a jump start at fame. Now and days almost anyone can become famous being on these reality tv shows whether talented or not. Lol They were probably rude to her because they felt she won her way to stardom the easier way I'm assuming, lol. But in reality, all the hard work started after the show, and Kelly had to really prove what she could bring to the table as an artist, and all I can say is all her hard work has paid off for where she's at now. Even Simon didn't like her in the beginning. But she proved him wrong as well. Lol

@@strikelee3369 yeah, but the fame doesnt automatically mean fortune. kelly has commented many times on just how rough the beginning was for her; she still had to work her ass off at tiny ass venues just like any artist who is trying to make it does. the only difference is that she was handed a contract that most people have to work years to get (though we also know that she had been offered a contract before she went on idol, but turned it down because it didnt give her creative control)

Even though Avril wrote "Breakaway", she was rude to Kelly when Kelly presented her an award back in the day. Kelly tried to congratulate her and Avril didn't even look at her. It was not Mariah, nor Christina. Back in 2013 Kelly was performing on american idol when Mariah was a judge and Mariah came up on stage and Kelly said the first time that they met she was fearing she would be mean and she wasn’t. And as far as Christina, she was rude to everybody, but Kelly’s first single, Miss Independent was written by Christina and she would praise Kelly all the time.

DEFINITELY NOT MARIAH!!! Quite to the contrary. Mariah was watching Idol during the first season. When Mariah heard Kelly’s voice, she called Randy and gushed about Kelly’s talent and her vocals. As the season progressed, Mariah continued to express behind the scenes her enthusiasm for Kelly- Kelly’s versatility, her songs selections and taste in music (Kelly did lots of Aretha songs and Mariah is a huge Aretha fan), and was always very enthusiastic about Kelly’s voice. And the times when Mariah finally met Kelly, Mariah was so sweet and complimentary and Mariah even brought up and complimented something as obscure as Kelly’s homemade denim outfit that Kelly had sewn together from cut up jeans in order to have something to wear when she auditioned, even though she was broke. In other words Mariah was so effusive and so kind in praising not just Kelly’s vocal talent but also her personality, her positivity, resourcefulness, her fashion sense and her sewing skills!!! Mariah grew up poor as hell. As a kid, she owned three shirts that she rotated and wore on different days. I will say that I remember when Kelly won, her win was huge. Like it was a topic of discussion for a long time. I think people forget how big American Idol was after her win. Wynonna was being interviewed and was saying something about how contest winners had no right to be there because they didn't earn it. Carrie was in the background within earshot and heard everything. Yes, it did hurt her. But years later Wynonna did apologize to Carrie after she performed How Great Thou Art, saying "I was wrong about you". (I don't know if that last part is true, but I hope it is)

The way she told the story it sounded like no one (except Jennifer love Hewitt) was nice to her that night. She said people on the red carpet, at the show and backstage were awful to her So it was probably numerous people. Some of the big stars there that night were Eminem, Justin, Britney, pink, Christina, usher, no doubt, Shakira, Avril, Ashanti, Mary j blige , Jennifer Lopez, Enrique, Missy Elliott, brandy, Nelly Sheryl crow, p diddy, linkin park’ Kelly Osborne. I don’t think it means much that she has had some of these people on her show 20 years later. We know Avril was one of the people she was talking about as there is footage of her rejecting a hug from her on stage and Kelly said in interviews years later that she got elbowed in the face during the incident yet she still had her on her show and seemed to get on fine with her now.
