The tone is so somber, like a funeral dirge before it breaks out. So raw and intense, and the 4 background singers all in unison. Not only strong powerful vocals, but so emotional, and her lyrics just chill you to the bone. Then throw in the tempo/ melodic change. The plaintive wailing is just intense! She is just and amazing, unparalleled vocalist, and terrific songwriter. I love "me"- the powerful gospel styled song, but there is something about "mine" that sticks with me and an unique and just KILLER! Kelly is phenomenal! Great review!

With Kelly's voice and technique, the live versions would always sound better, unless she is ill or something. She has the ability to tell a story as most of the country's music singers have and because she is a very beautiful soul who likes to talk about feelings and thoughts. While "me" might be the more impressive single vocally, "mine" delivers vocally and emotionally and is a grower, just gets better and better with every listen. I believe some audience members in that taping said while there where no rehearsals, she had to start over many times, because she was quiet emotional and thanks to you, we know what happens then. It's still, like I said unter your reaction to Piece By Piece, this hits so much harder with the knowledge of it being the continuation of Because Of You und Piece By Piece. I also feel very bad, because Kelly writes phenomenal, when she's sad (My December is a great example, "Irvine" for example (should check it out, she wrote that one in under 20 minutes I believe, backstage and totally depressed) but of course I'm so sad for her that she was let down again. I gotta say, I love your reaction because of your expertise. That adds so much more to the video and I'm glad, that you provide musical knowledge. Thank you Hege, you're truly amazing!
