Great video! Although I have to say I did do the bypass with a Jeep Renegade Trailhawk with 1.5" lift on 31" K02's. Tons & I mean tons of skid plate & rock slider use, rock removed fender flare later we made it to the top. The last rocks was more difficult for the Renegade because of what it is. Got rid of that vehicle & now have a Gladiator after doing this trail.......

Great choice! We have been loving our JL's. The renegades are tough little vehicles but nothing beats the wrangler/gladiator!

I used to frequent this trail with my grandfather in the 80’s and 90’s. It’s to bad they took half of it for houses, it used to end outside red feather lakes. It was never a big loop. Ted’s place used to be a really good restaurant until it burned down. Heart attack hill never used to be rutted out like that.
@Trailsoffroad9 ай бұрын
Sounds like a good time, if you have any old photos post them up on our website. We would love to see them.
@BjornStyrmir9 ай бұрын
@@Trailsoffroad I’ll have to dig through my grandparents photos. As soon as I find them I’ll post them. My first trip on heart attack hill was in 1984 (4 years old), we came up the back side then went down in a 78 CJ-7. My grandfather told me my dad was scared to the point he was pale and I was in my car seat sitting center in the back seat laughing the whole way down. Good memories.
@bobvincent48412 жыл бұрын
Great video guys. I did the hill in my Power Wagon on 37s one evening on my way to Walden. Was getting dusky and didn't have time in the daylight to check out the chutes. Going to go back in the spring. Have you ever seen or heard of any full size rigs successfully doing those chutes? From the video, looks maybe like short wheel base prolly better there...? Great video!
@Trailsoffroad2 жыл бұрын
Hi Bob, thanks for watching! Power wagons are some of our favorite rigs. Not saying it cant be done, but it sure is narrow after the hardest part of the chutes (its a 2 part obstacle)! If you happen to feel like its in your cards, definitely take some pics! We would love to see it.

whos flying the drone towards the end down the forest trails? Or are you using the spot lock follow me features? Just curious how well that works through these trails. I'd love to hear how and what modes the drone shots are filmed with.
@Trailsoffroad3 жыл бұрын
A good friend who is our dedicated licensed drone pilot took all the shots. The part through the tight trees he is flying a Skydio 2 in follow mode, the very end with the more overhead shots he is flying a Mavic Air 2S in full manual mode.

Enjoy exploring lesser known routes, but no interest in driving "challenging" 4x4 trails. When a trail gets technical, I park, then do some hiking by foot. Have viewed videos of Wranglers and others crashing head over heels down a hill, not my kind of fun. Do my best to keep my Wrangler Rubicon all 4 on the ground. Some pin striping is acceptable, but gouged, crushed or ripped off parts, no thank you. Hehe, in some 30 years of off-road exploring, only aired down once. Well, did tear open a sidewall, few years ago, my only flat, ever. Really glad I chose not to quit carrying a spare since I never needed it, before.

Which drone were you using?

You dont need a Jeep at all! We just all have them and were so used to saying "Jeep" all the time haha. Any stock 4wd vehicle with a transfer case can make it up. Good tires are strongly recommended, 33's would be an ideal minimal size IMO.
