I was born in 1959 and I was surfing when I first got into junior high school I was the best in my school in Huntington Beach I am very amazed of the equipment the wave machine especially is so cool they should be placed everywhere recently I have fractured my back and it's been a long time trying to get back to where I was surfing was the best thing in my life and now I might not ever swim again and breaks my heart but everyone should have the opportunity to surf and be with the ocean it's life-changing.

I can relate to your torment. I surfed for almost 25 years starting in 1972 and caught more than my fair share of barrels all over California, Baja, and the Mexican Mainland until I broke my back in a freak accident. I knew someday this technology would be realized as I knew an individual who was working on it as early as the early 1980’s. A perfect wave in nature is a remarkable thing but the physics of it are not really that complex. Every surfer will have a “last wave”...treasure the ones that you were lucky enough to ride. There’s nothing like it!
@user-nk1yu9cw8o4 жыл бұрын
@Abu Dabu Every surfer will catch a “last wave” that is as certain as death. I hope you are young Mr. Dabu and have many, many, years in front of you before that time comes. Enjoy it while you can and surf every wave like it could be your last.

The first and only time I met Kelly Slater I was at North Beach down in Rodanthe Cape Hatteras Island North Carolina. We were surfing the largest rideable swell in the islands history courtesy of category 5 hurricane Gabrielle. A van pulled up that said Spektrum surf team of Walt Disney World and I got to watch Kelly Slater as a teenager tear up some 15ft to 20ft barrels. It's been a pleasure watching him dominating the pro tour and developing this new technology so that one day hands in the middle of our country and other countries can experience the awesome pleasure beautiful waves bring. Brett Calhoun.

Nice to see slater on utube video again. As I am a past surfer and true native of south Florida east coast also, we have always been so proud of this young gentleman's surfing accomplishments. A true to life handsome god of the ocean waters he has continued to bring an astronomical amount of sheer joy and excitement to the sports world around the globe. A passionate heart of pure gold he continuously exhibits whenever and wherever he glides along the glistening waters of the deep ocean blue. I have always been a true fan of slaters strength , courage and enduring passion for the sport of surfing.

Truly a difference maker in our youth. Thank you Kelly for investing in a sport that has the potential to help our youth. The future of surfing is progressing and Missouri is waiting..

I managed a olympic sized pool back in the early 90s in a year round resort area. The cost was incredibly high and this adds moving machinery + water+electricity+ chemicals+ maint+ larger staff+ all the baked in cost. Hate to say it but to build the "perfect wave" to attract the dedicated surfer looks great on paper but to break even or profit you need to keep the pool packed all the time with floaties and rafts and keep the 3- 5 footers coming.

Kelly Slater has been a huge advocate for climate change, nature and etc. What strikes me most, is his surf ranch in a middle of a desert ( a California desert with no water to spare). Wasting the most precious natural resource for half dozen of rich people can have some fun in a mocha chocolate water. I guess in the end of the day, the only green he really cares, is the dollar bill green....

Many questions, Is it buoyant saltwater? Does it have a sand bottom? Is this a Public Park where people pay, and how many ride the same wave at one time? Are their plans to but in beach horticulture? I stopped to think a moment about how many questions I actually have on this,(a lot), so just one more. Do you have a website that has all the facts and figures a curious "surfer",(ocean and web), have?

@antoz82296 жыл бұрын
Hopefully it wont stay as an even on the World Tour as its so boring to watch every wave is the same and each ride is very predictable. It would be very fun to ride of course but it should not be on the world tour. It should be seperate. And Slater is lying or doesnt know that its not the first wavepool with power. There was a wavepool in japan where it barrelled and had alot of punch to it, nice wedges.
@ManoceanLive6 жыл бұрын
The Japanese wavepool is weak compared to this pool, it has no power to give the rider any amount of drive. Look at the speed and distance people get on each wave and compare it.

@@seekingtruth8074 I dont know about Anunnaki, but today, they are called the DeBeers-Oppenheimer Anglo-American Corporation [DAAC] Diamonds are a scam and as a result, humanity has been taken hostage. These guys sold diamonds to both Eisenhower and hitler at the same time, and diamonds are key for making the machines of war, as well as digging for oil. DAAC is the worlds biggest monopoly, above the leaders of countries even. These guys should have been the first on trial at Nuremburg after WW2. Read The Diamond Invention by Edward Jay Epstein for some perspective. As far as the Anunnaki, weren't they like 4500 years ago. Practice over and over again for more money/sponsors, built a park for profit, very natural and one with the environment and we as humans done build on every solitary morsel of land. In an era where so many claim to care about the environment and planet - especially energy production, someone builds something like this that consumes unbelievable amounts energy and when we see dwindling supplies of fresh water in massive amounts used for something like this yes it does seem very irresponsible. Demeaning and calling people names who call him out on such an obvious failure shows you don't seem to understand the problems or if you say you do you're lying.

Jim Kelly's pool is solar powered and the water is recycled. I bet you waste more water than they do.
@freelectron20296 жыл бұрын
@@doublestrokeroll no way kellys wave is completely solar powered. do you realize the amount of energy it takes to run a huge electric winch while it pushes hundreds of tons of water. yeah nah mate, no way that thing is solar powered. if it was they would be mentioning it every 5 seconds because it would be one of the bigest solar farms in the southern hemisphere. and as for wasting water the best way to waste water is through evaporation, the best way to evaporate water is to lay it out over as much area as possible. so yeah nah, your wrong on both accounts there mate. there are a lot worse things going on in the enviroment though, not sure why people decide to pick on this.
