Overture No. 1 was commissioned by the Co-Curricular Activities Branch of the Ministry of Education, Singapore, for the 2009 Singapore Youth Festival Central Judging of Concert Bands.

not sure...but west winds is a very good community band...has a lot of professional musicians inside from Saf Central band and a few NAFA graduates...so quite an impressive band
