When Marlee Matlin won an Oscar years and years ago- she gave her acceptance speech in English (speaking) rather than ASL and the Deaf Community as a whole wasn't happy. I think that may be why she rarely uses her voice now!?! She probably does feel comfortable with KC too!!!

By the way, Ls Clarkson may be very interested in the musical sign language movement. There are a series of videos about concert and musician focused interpreters and vests for deaf attendees to communicate notes tactically in concerts, it is worth a Kelly Clarkson episode itself and Kelly is the perfect guest to show the audience and the world the versatility of the music experience for the deaf culture. There is even a deaf singer who lost her hearing while in college for singing and still sings with digital tuners and shoeless feet (to feel percussion in the stage).

She is so overated. she didn't deserve the Oscar #sigourneywasrobbed and Coda was one of the worst films I've seen. It wasn't even Disney worthy. It never would have been made had A Quiet Place not broke the box office. That movie revived her already not impressive career.
