Around 1975 this is the song that my friend played for me that turned me onto how great Rush was. Too bad the Rush Tribute Bands I've seen don't play this song.

I've been a Rush fan since the late 70s when i was 11 or 12. But only since i started playing guitar during Covid did i truly realize how great the guitar parts in their songs are. As a casual listener, Rush never seemed to be heavy guitar or really awesome guitar parts, but now that i play...i have much respect for the guitar parts Alex Lifeson created. And it's great that there's so much video of them playing live all through the years. Their last few tours are absolutely incredible to watch since they had so much awesome material to choose from and they play their songs exactly like you know them. Thank you for the lesson!!

So awesome. Takes me right back to high school days learning to play the guitar. I wish these videos were available then! I still learned some of the subtleties today.

Absolutely fantastic! Thank you so much. Been a Rush fan since day 1 ( thanks to older brothers) and finally getting time to do what I’ve wanted to for 50 years (yikes) thanks to KDA!

Love it. I'm a big fan of early Rush and often thought I should try and learn this song but never got round to it. Until now. Thanks great tutorial. Well explained.

Well done! I was hung up on the c note only being played once for the main lick. I was thinking he did it every time.. but did not sound right. Thanks!

Those early Rush tunes were cool, and like your other Rush lessons...nailed it! (Even with a sore hand) as always, thx for sharing. How about some deep dives into Frank Marino's 70's era Mahogany Rush stuff? Rush and Mahogany Rush were the Canadian power houses of rock in those days!

Great lesson!! I knew about the High A on 5th fret…didn’t realize Alex played the c note on A string first off…after Alex plays G, then D…he’ll play a regular A…then next time includes higher notes

Man those pulloffs are hard! I cant seem to "pull them off" properly!! Seems I cant get my picking and fretting together and on time! Ooooh lots practice required here. Dont know if I'll ever get it!

Can you check one thing with the bridge ? I definetly hear that he doesn't slide from 5 freth to 7th at A string but from 6th freth to 7th and cuts it instantly.
