What are your thoughts on the mary&may 6 peptide complex serum. Is it more of a peptide or hydration serum
@DRVenard Жыл бұрын
A couple years ago, I'd lost 60 lbs. Well, my whole face fell and I looked well over my age! I started using The Buffet (at the time) + Cu peptides, exfoliation, and retinol then tretinoin. My sister thought I'd had a face-lift! I'd not seen her in a while (she lives out of state) buy she knew my jawles were hanging badly. It doesn't happen overnight, but about 9 months to a year, YES you CAN firm saggy skin! You are right on the mark here💗💗💗Have a beautiful day💗🌤

Oh yeah, after using The Ordinary's Copper peptides, last year at slovenber, I tried the Niod CAIS and IDK, I didn't notice any difference. Maybe if this was first, it would been a different story🤷♀️

Caution with traditional Retinol. If your skin is reactive and sensitive at all, use a Small Amount 0.2. I was reading in Western blogs that the optimum amount was 1.0, I gradually made it to that amount and it sensitized my skin even further. (Korean brands have gentle retinol products)

i wish you would touch on acids as well, especially since glycolic acid in particular has been proven to increase collagen production. i know you're all about barrier repair, but using glycolic acid sparingly and cautiously can have great benefits for the skin too

Excellent video, Kelly. Could you explain where you put these types of products in your routine and how you layer it? Thank you.
@KellyDriscoll Жыл бұрын
All of the skincare products are serums so they go after toners and essence but before oils and creams. Hope that helps! The devices can be used on top of a full skincare routine or freshly cleansed skin, it doesn't really matter with microcurrent.

I plan on trying the Niod CP serum durning their sale and getting another SMD mist . I have bought like 3 of those in the past year. I got the ordinary CP in the last sale and the smell and stick kept me from liking it but I needed to use it up before it went bad so I put down the Bioscionce CP and started using the Ordinary and it actually started growing on me I do think it's because of the results definitely not the smell or formula. * I have Also been using EGF the Revive serum and I love that too beside my CP serum, I don't love the price but it isn't bad compared to the 300$ EGF serums it's like 92$ and I think it's definitely worth it .

Honestly I saw more results with the Ordinary's CP than Niod's, even though Niod's is like triple the price of the ordinary

I have and I do! I have 2 different reviews on my channel of devices and I haven't noticed any firming, definitely refreshes skin over all and I think it helps accelerate my other skincare products. Thank you for this content! One of my skincare goals is firming - I’m Asian and have noticed that we tend to sag before we wrinkle. I use NIOD CAIS 3 (and will repurchase more, hoping Deciem do Slowvember again this year) but interesting that you didn’t mention ginseng? I’m currently incorporating Sulwhasoo Concentrated Ginseng Renewing Cream and yea, it’s pricey, but it definitely has a lifting and firming effect in a very short period (ie: from first use). I am 44 though so maybe the effects are more noticeable for older skin?
@KellyDriscoll Жыл бұрын
Deciem will be doing Slowvember again, starting next week! I've never had any firming from Ginseng but I'm unable to use Sulwhasoo because I'm sensitive to some of the ingredients they use. My understanding of their products is that the overall formulation supports firming but just isolating ginseng would likely not give that benefit.
@heidihinds7207 Жыл бұрын
@@KellyDriscollah ok, thank you. Such a pity you are sensitive to this product as whatever Sulwhasoo is doing is magic for my skin, the firming and skin softening is phenomenal. I’m too scared to use tret - I opt for retinal instead but paired with the Sulwhasoo I’m getting great results. So excited for Slowvember, I have a shopping list ready 😅

Hmm DMAE is rated as a bad ingredient by Paula’s choice ingredient dictionary. “ It’s a controversial ingredient for skin because research has shown conflicting results. It seems to offer an initial benefit that improves skin firmness, but these results are short-lived and eventually give way to destruction of the substances in skin that help keep it firm.”. It also says that the pH needed for efficacy and stability are way too high. I’ve heard similar things about it initially helping and later making things worse from other sources so I’m a bit scared of it.
@binkao2938 Жыл бұрын
My first comment was deleted, but from the truth in aging website: “I have only found one clinical study that demonstrates that the chemical 2-dimethyl-amino-ethanol (dimethylaminoethanol), commonly listed in many anti-aging cosmetics as DMAE, may cause a seriously negative reaction in skin cells. However, the research does seem be thorough, peer reviewed and published in the British Journal of Dermatology.”
@binkao2938 Жыл бұрын
“The research that turns this claim on its head was conducted by the Faculty of Medicine at Canada's Université Laval. Tests on human and rabbit skin cells showed a drastic and rapid swelling of fibroblasts, which maintain the connection between cells. Within a few hours after applying DMAE, cell division slowed and at times stopped completely. Twenty-four hours after applying the concentration of DMAE found in anti-wrinkle cosmetics, the fibroblast mortality rate reached over 25%. Dr. Guillaume Morissette, who co-presented the recent tests on DMAE, suggests that the so-called anti-wrinkle effect may occur as a result of the actual damage suffered by the skin. When the cell becomes damaged, the skin thickens.”
@KellyDriscoll Жыл бұрын
It's safe used in small quantities, my understanding is the amount used in these studies is fairly high and not the amount used in cosmetics. These studies help us understand the correct amount to be used and don't necessitate the ingredient being unsafe at any amount. As they say "the dose makes the poison." If you are concerned then by all means avoid.

Hey Kelly! :) I was wondering do you think any K beauty serums can beat THe Ordinary's peptide serums in terms of efficacy of collagen production, firming? when I look at the ingredients of K beauty serums, it always looks that peptides are more towards the end of the list than in TO serums and they never disclose the percentages, and then it looks like the percentqages are not high enough to make a difference. What is your opinion of it? :)

I have tried several times and it irritates my skin, I don’t know if you have heard of Naturium’s new copper peptides serum which has a slow release system. I am planning to try that one as my last intent. So far my skin hates it, Have you heard of other people having this same issue? If I cannot use copper peptides which other peptide would also give similar results when it comes to elasticity which is my main concern.? Thank s

@KellyDriscoll Жыл бұрын
Yes they are safe, they can stimulate collagen but I personally haven't noticed firming benefits like I have with the products I've included in the video. I've noticed red light helps over all refresh skin, helps speed up healing and might help the effectiveness of other products. Same as the other devices mentioned, you need to really be consistent and dedicate a lot of time to the device to see results.
