Thank you for this video! This is not only important to save money but also to stop overconsumption. Don’t get me wrong, it’s nice to treat yourself to skincare and nice products but this is a great reminder that sometimes we don’t need a thousand products.

I feel you on the overconsumption part too, sometimes what I need isn't a *thing* but it's so quick and easy to use that as a way to self-care or treat myself.

My tip is to repurchase what works instead of buying something new to replace it. This almost never works for me and I've wasted so much money on less effective products.

Love how honest and transparent you are Kelly, I have found myself expending more money than I should since the pandemic, because this was when I started watching KZbin influencers. I have unsuscribed from a few because I understood that this was the cause of my issue. It is so honest of you to ask your followers that if we feel that this is becoming an issue you are ok with us to unfollow but I really think that your channel does not push us to buy at all! I really love your content because is so much more that a product review. And I would definitely continue to follow your channel! Thank you so much for this video as it is really helpful ❤

Contrary to buying bigger size I'll say - buy minis. By that I mean of products that you've never used before. And especially those that you're not sure may work for you, but you really want to try it because it's now trending. My stash is full of regular size products and the more I open up the more I find they're not necessarily for me, but I don't have anyone to give them away anymore so I'm forcing myself to use them up to not throw away the money. I got like 6 minis lately and I won't repurchase ANY of those products, but I got to try them for a fraction of the price. Feeding my curosity without overspending.

Love these tips! Not needing to drop my skincare budget at the moment (have in the past and most likely will again), but I have a ton of products, samples, and travel sized products to test/use up. Finally decided to completely clear out my cabinets and organized everything by product type and from least amount of product to most on my counters. Giving each product a fair shot, but if it's not for me I'm passing it on to friends and family. If I love a product, I'm putting the empty container aside for when I finish that type of product I know which ones I want to repurchase. Still had to shove a bunch of items back into my cabinets, but they are organized now so I can just grab the next one in line to test/use up/give away. :) I'm down to only one (my favorite) cleanser, two retinols, about 5 night creams, 4 vitamin C products, 3 essences, 5 toners, and an unknown amount of all the rest, lol. It may not seem like a lot of products to some, but for me I typically only have 1-3 of each product max, and most of the "basic" products only being one, like cleansers, night creams, vitamin C, etc. Glad to see my method isn't totally crazy.

Wow so many great tips, thanks so much Kelly! I could save so much because I realised that I am wasting so much money... not only do i double cleanse regardless, have been guilty of buying expensive cleansers like glow recipe and farmacy, using toners, masks and essences. I do always cut up tubes, and for pump products where I can't get the last bit out especially cleansers, I mix some water in it to easily use the rest out. I disagree with having stuff on display, as I am very much a clutter free closed storage person and absolutely cannot stand open displays or things out on the counter. I have to put stuff away so the place looks clean and neat

Hi, Kelly! My wallet is definitely feeling a bit thinned out after all the holiday gatherings, too. I just wanted to say, that your eye makeup look is so pretty and flattering on you! I really enjoyed this video and found it helpful recently. I’ve put all my skincare in a drawer and funny enough. I’ve ended up purchasing something I already had so actually seeing it you know what you’ve got could you do a video on targeted ingredients for postinflammatory hyperpigmentation and very dry skin and the ingredients suited. Sending much love ❤

I’ve put myself on a low buy for skin care. I have enough right now and will only re buy when I’m running low on something. I’m on a no buy for makeup, though. We hardly ever finish something in makeup. Maybe a mascara, but if I run out of a certain shade of blush or lipstick, I have many other shades to take its place! Great advice Kelly, and very big of you to mention opting out as an option. I enjoy your content and recommendations and will continue to watch, but will restrain myself from buying anything new.

Thank you for another great video! Using a small spray bottle is the best thing ever! It's faster, cleaner, and helps save a lot of product. Also, great advice on putting everything on display. I did it and discovered I had five essences (too many!) and no toners. I want to share another tip of my own: most products expire 12 months after opening, so write down the day you open it on a jar/bottle, so you know when it expires. I was not sure about one of my essences and I went to see my Amazon purchase history and discovered it's been open for three years (not good). When you have the exact dates, you'll see how much time you have left to use it AND you'll see how fast you are using it, so next time you buy a similar product, you'll know whether you need 4 oz or 8 oz, or none 🙂

I dont have enough display space to display my stash, so I keep a meticulous spreadsheet arranged by product type that includes the expiration date. Before I buy anything, I check my spreadsheet. So when that new moisturizer is calling my name but I see I have 4 moisturizers in my backup stash that all expire by 2027, I know I need to just add it to my wishlist and then I see how I feel about it when I clear a few out. The FOMO is real though!

I have found spray products to waste a lot of product to the misting process. For example, NIOD's superoxide dismutase spray has an amazing atomizer, but I have found that a lot of the good stuff ends up being dispersed into the air. What I do is I will press down on the atomizer very slowly so that the product comes out in a stream instead of a mist. With this I can cover my entire face and neck area with just one spray, instead of the usual two or three sprays.

First off great tips and make sense While I have some excess products unopened I don’t open anything in the same form while I have something else open usually only thing I’d have multiples open is a essence and toner and if I’m using multiple serums , I always cut open my tubes of things to use it all up , I also use an app on my phone called google keep I have running list of things I have open but also have a list of unopened products and have them categorized by product type in the unopened list also have them I ordered of when I purchased it so I can use up the older ones first do I still use a lot of skincare yes do I have more unopened product then I need probably but these are some things I do to know what I have
@EmmaAbigail-p5w14 күн бұрын
I keep an inventory too. I tend to buy for the season ahead so I have what I will need on hand. I have a small supply of unopened products on hand but none of it is wasted.

@ same here it all gets used up before expiry date no issues but I like having things I use on hand also my local winners tends to carry a lot of k and j beauty which is great but if I see something I use or I’m low on I will buy from there as well but always good to stayed organized I find it helps me stay on track for what to use next

I recently had to switch moisturizers because my skin went from super dry to combo, so I still have the cream for dry skin laying around at mostly full. I use it around my eyes and lips and nose where I still get dry because I rub my eyes so much. So if you really want an eye cream, go for a moisturizer for your face. It usually cost a lot less or the same but you get so much more product

For the double cleanser tip I sometimes double cleanse with my second cleanser if like you I’m wearing barely anything on my face. At least in Spain a 400ml bottle of cerave cleanser costs less or the same than a 100ml cleansing balm even if I get it at Stylevana. Also do not perceive me but I’m the girl who bought two of the same toner because she didn’t remember buying the first one because it indeed was hiding at the bottom of the skincare box. 😅

I have found, through a lot of trial and error, my perfect cleanser, targeted/active serum, moisturizer, and retinal face/eye cream. These are my staples now, and my essense/toner is my floater where I try new products or change them depending on season/skin need. Right now I'm using Mary and May blackberry essence, and I'll try out something new next. Probably that haruharu brown rice emulsion thiccness you love. It really simplifies my routine and products while also letting me have exciting new things in rotation.

You would be shocked at how much K-18 was left when I used pliers to get the top off! It's not easy, but pumps can also leave a lot behind. So I started doing it with my Stratia products too😂 Even though they are quite reasonably priced, it did indeed get me through until my replacement arrived! Speaking of Stratia and eye cream. I wasn't overly impressed with the eye cream, but boy, was I wrong. I'd used 2 and thought, "I don't need-need this." But, when it was on sale in November, I did get another, and I'm so glad I did. I'm older, (late 50's) and honestly, until I smile, I can't see any wrinkles! I guess that's the way peptides work. It takes time. And, I kinda missed the way it feels too 😁 Anyway, hopefully this helps someone! Have a blessed day💗🌤
@gracesaw13 күн бұрын
Any tips on how to remove the K-18 cap? How did you manage with the pliers? I didn't even realize that was possible haha
@DRVenard13 күн бұрын
@gracesaw The 1st part is kind of easy to twist off. Just kinda turn the bottle one way, and the pump part the other. If memory serves. I think the inner part was where the pliers came in. I don't have one here rn to look at, just know where there is a will. There's a way😂I'd just finished coloring my hair and didn't have enough. You know how difficult it is to tell how much is left🙄So I went to work! There was more than enough left inside😉 and at that price, even with my poor arthritic hands, it was worth it😂

I love Dr Paw Paw multi balm Use it on my lips Under my eyes on the top of a moisturiser and on cuticles…Hand cream I use is from Kamill and it is for nails as well Completely ditched toners and use marine hyaluronate from q+a (uk brand) skincare It is more like essence/serum Cosrx Good morning low ph cleanser proved to be too strong for my skin to use every day so I use it as a body exfoliant 1x a week and it works wonders I am a sucker for a face mask so found one with lactic acid, green tea and salicylic acid that I’ve been using 1x a week as a face exfoliant It will last me longer than BHA toner and it is cheaper For pimples benzoyl peroxide and pimple patches from Acnecide have been working better than adapalene gel and are much cheaper Great cleanser is Cetaphil gentle cleanser that can be used on dry skin to get rid of makeup and on wet skin as a second cleanse Win Win

Double check buying larger sizes. Normally I find that the bigger size is a better deal, but one of my favorite serums that I have repurchased over and over comes in a bigger size than I typically buy. Why don't a buy the bigger size? Because it's 3 cents more an oz. I do the math each time just to be sure, but yep.
