For this style of video (very product-focused, uses press-release photos showcasing new products we aren’t familiar with yet) I think having the larger image on split screen is a good design. I’m videos that are less product-focused (for example you’re just mentioning a product that you’re using/commenting on), just popping a smaller image on screen would be fine.

Put a Barbie Sticker over the Nyx logo. It'll probably go on sale in a month or less too! Jen Phelps really liked the liquid poreless primer and it seemed to really minimize pores.

It’s fascinating to me how some brands get praise for dupes, while others get dragged. Especially since the packaging is accessible to people with disabilities. Rare absolutely gets full credit for thinking about the community which I’m a part of, but other brands should start thinking about us too. I’m glad something more affordable is available(although Rare isn’t too expensive compared to other Sephora brands, it is still not accessible to everyone)

Yeah, but Rare’s packaging is not designed to be accessible. Those disks on top of the caps are just a design choice. The brand even made a statement about it

@@leslievanhouten thank you for pointing that out! When I read the statement, which says the design was created for Selena’s preferences in *ease of use*, I attribute that to accessibility. I will also add that even if they have not officially tested it, which may be necessary for a company to make a claim of accessibility, does not change the fact that so many people with disabilities have come forward saying how much it helps them. I am someone with fibromyalgia and the knob really helps when I have a flare. Intentional or not, it is still accessible for many. Hopefully that makes sense! I appreciate you sharing that ☺️

You are 100% correct on the milk brow product. I have a lot of brows and just like to fill in a bit (I don’t need hair strokes). I LOVE this product. Works amazing for me. Would NOT be for anyone with sparse brows or those who draw on brows. I’m obsessed with this product, but I think the majority of people will not like it.

The HC lip oils taste disgusting FYI. I got a couple of them and later the same day I saw Jen Phelps review them and she said they taste like soap. I should have returned them right away but I opened one because I wanted to try them. They have a floral smell and have a perfumey taste. Why do companies do this???

The original mousse-like textured eye shadow was in the '70s. It was Yardley Pot O'Gloss. It was a staple in everyone's makeup collection back then. Now you have Charlotte Tilbury eyeshadow at such high prices, so I'm glad someone else has come out with some. (I own a couple of CT ones and I'm disappointed in the colours.) Must see if I can get Moira products shipped to Australia.

Oh wow. To this day I still miss the Yardley Pot O Gloss for LIPS in Lilac I think it was called. SO beautiful and the smell, iconic. I can still see the little white pot with the logo etc. 😍Wish we'd get it back.

The hard candy oils are interesting in their "controversy" because it isn't a balant copy of either rare or pleasing, as neither product has a plain lip oil (rare has gel tints labeled as oils and pleasing only has polishes). The only similarity is the little ball on the top. If anything, it could be going for dior, though the handle isn't a straight up ball. And yet elf has been doing straight up copies but no one bats an eye

Hi Kelly! I was looking at that NYX flip mirror and I bet you could get the NYX emblem off of the mirror with some acetone, I use it to get rid of all kinds of stuff! One other thing, I watch all your videos and have a suggestion, you need you outro to be a little longer because you’re gone so quick that I don’t have time to give you a thumbs up👍. I watch on my tv and you end so quick! It could help you get more thumbs up👍. Just my humble opinion & a suggestion. If you don’t like it, that’s ok. I just find you gone before I have a chance to 👍. I’m too old to care about Hailey Bieber personally, but the products are great. I think she has worked with some really good formulators to come up with solid products at a mid range price. I like that they are simple, not filled with fragrance as well (though I love a good luxury fragrance too). I got the milk and it’s thicker than a milky toner IMO, more like a liquid lotion. I like it, but I doubt it replaces the Lancôme tonique confort which is my HG. I love the barrier repair cream and keep it in my purse for hand cream too as it is not sticky. All in all, it’s a solid line and people without a ton of money to spend will find solid options here for skincare that does a little more than typical.

As soon as you showed the kitsch x Barbie clips I immediately went to buy it. I wish at least the flower clip at least was a little bigger :(( both the claw clips are pretty small and won’t really work in my hair. I’m glad you like it! I had to pause the video to comment on Danessa Myricks skin tint. It is the best foundation that I’ve ever tried (my favorite before this was Yensa serum foundation which I still love)! I expected it to be light coverage, which is not my favorite, but it definitely give us a good medium coverage and can be layered for fuller coverage (I add extra on my cheeks to hide redness). I love everything about it

I think you should try the liquid poreless primer from Elf, maybe use it together with the power grip one, like multipriming, applying them on different areas.

I did not like the original putty primer. It was to slippery for makeup. But I had to try the new one. I love it. It's not the most pore filling, but it does make a difference. Makeup looks so smooth and soft. My foundation still looks great after 9 hours of work and this hot humid southern summer. Really impressed first primer I love from elf.

Nyx has changed their eyeshadow formula recently and is redoing their regular palettes and I believe these special Barbie ones are the new as well. I searched the new version of their brights palette at Ulta and it’s much more similar to say colour pop formula wise now.

Moiras new powder foundation is wonderful and I'm 42 and NOT a powder foundation gal. I was in my 20s and 30s tho. I can't believe how good it is for 20 bucks.

The cosmic crush palette is a mimic of ABH Cosmos. If you look at the colors, they seem almost the same-certainly enough to dupe the ABH palette. I think I saw someone actually doing that, and you couldn’t tell.

The nyx barbie collection quality is great I tried a bunch of the products over the weekend and I really enjoyed them everything was pigmented and blendable I think nyx quality is always pretty good considering the price and they never really make the quality of the makeup an after thought in my opinion I don't think you should have assumed that would be the case before you even tried it just because it was a marketed branding deal. Try it first them give a review on the quality of the makeup.

I’m excited for the Barbie movie! But I am not interested in any of the collabs haha but it is all very cute I think it’s cool that elf came out with the primer in a tube, but my problem is I am still never going through the giant tub I already have. A little goes a long way! I have thick brows, but I just use clear brow gel bc I don’t need to draw anything, so I too am unsure how the milk brow will work for people. 🤔 I’m so curious about Moira but I probably won’t purchase unless it comes to Ulta or something.

I bought the Hard Candy lip oils. It feels wonderful on my lips but I don’t enjoy the scent. It smells a little like a kitchen cleaner. I would have preferred not scented or something like vanilla.

is it because Hard Candy is available mostly at Walmart and people love to dunk on Walmart? Or is Hard Candy just on the receiving end of the lightning rod of hate this week? IDK. But - I have tried the gloss in Peach Dreams and I *really* like it. Peach Dreams tastes/smells a little bit like artificial peach candy gummies (which could be a turn off for some people) but the formula is thick and juicy. It covers my lips in this wonderful, mask-like oil that is not at all watery. Nor is it smothering or too thick. Kind of cushiony, if a lip oil can act like a cushion. I think it is the combo of squalane and jojoba oil that makes it slick and juicy. It kind of reminds me of the Lunar Beauty Lip Oil - very similar textures (Hard Candy - 0.17 fluid ounces for $8 versus Lunar Beauty - 0.11 ounces for $18) If you are looking for a tinted gloss, avoid this. You will barely get any color. I know I am going to get some more. And the packaging is quite cute.

I think the Milk eyebrow sticks are meant to be for the thick brow girlies but honestly, I don’t think it’d even work for that demographic. I’ve got thick brows so a micropencil is not gonna show at all unless I use up like half of it in one look so I prefer something that can cover a larger area with minimum effort, but I’d still need that hard edge to define the tails of my brows and a rounded product like this I just don’t see maintaining that edge long enough to be a useful product. I’ll stick to my Nyx Precision Brow Pencil please and thank you.

I disagree that ELF is shameful in producing a more cost effective alternative to high end products. ELF has some great products in their cosmetic lines, and have saved me a lot of money. With prices continuing to climb on everything, I appreciate being able to save some money where I can without sacrificing quality or effectiveness.

I like the lip oil packaging because its very accessible for people with disabilities. I sometimes have issues opening products due to hand issues and companies like rare beauty are very ready to open. I’d like to see more brands have accessible packaging especially in the drugstore

The SKKN packaging looks very similar to Fenty Skin. I won’t be trying SKKN because they’re too expensive. I do love Fenty Skin though, especially the fragrance free SPF. Fenty is as expensive as what I would ever spend on skincare.
