I agree Kelly, this would be a great AT shakedown hike. Cheers to your new sleeping bag. Flower footage was gorgeous. ✌️

I got chills seeing that view from the top after the Stairway to Heaven. I did it on a clear day, too, and it is simply stunning!! Thank you for showcasing my beautiful home state. Can't wait to see what's next!! I mean I know what's coming up. I just can't wait to see your videos and comments on it.

Great video. Didn’t realize my home state had such views. Did a short stretch of the Pinhoti years ago in Boy Scouts but I don’t remember these views. Thanks for sharing

This is my favorite part of the Pinhoti in AL, it's fun to see your video of a trail that I know all to well. It is my home state after all. Your take on it reminding you of the NY portion of the AT is a good one. I'm originally from NY and this is why I like this portion so much. It reminds me as well of parts of the AT in NY too. I've hike those sections many times as well.

You will probably never see this as it’s a year later I’m watching. I found your channel and started watching your CDT hike. I’m from clay county and grew up in the valley of cheaha. Got married on top of Cheaha which is Alabama’s highest point. Good call on the chicken sandwich. It’s great to see you doing this area!

Maybe I should try this before committing to the AT! I’ll probably just work on the GA sections of the AT as practice, I’m not far from the southern terminus. You should stop in when you’re done and let me take you to my favorite local day hike😊

Hay Kelly, when y'all get to Cave Springs, GA, check out the Hearn Inn. During my Feb 2021 Pinhoti thru-hike, I zeroed there, and had a paranormal experience on the second night. It was very interesting. I read in their guest book that someone else mentioned having a similar experience. I enjoy all of your videos. Thanks, Kanati, AT08.

kelly if you get poison ivy it is easier to wipe it off with rubbing alcohol. see if you can find alcohol wipes to carry just in case. Cheers!

It totally sucks that the restaurant closed. It was really nice to have supper and take in the views. Makes no sense to me why there hasn't been an effort to reopen it. Cheaha SP isn't very close to anywhere else...which is great...but blows if you'd like to have a nice meal and not have to drive. Last grip...they should take the word "restaurant" off all the signs if they haven't already.

Well at least there was some Virginia Creeper (non-allergenic) mixed in there with that poison ivy. I really hope you don't get a rash. I wish more hikers would bring a spray bottle of Roundup with them and keep the trail clear of it.
