This show is generally regarded as one of the most iconic metal gigs ever. It was the last time that the orignal line-up played the UK, which was the first place where they became big.

First timer here, a slipknot fan, I loved your reaction to Spit it Out, and your ending talk about Slipknot in general was spot on. Eyeless is very intense. Not a very new-friendly. If you want to easy yourself in, Duality is a good one. From there, you have two ways to go; to the past, the heavier stuff and to the future, the more melodic stuff. And don't forget Corey's other band "Stone Sour"! PS. With much of Slipknot, live is where it is. You got some great videos (Before I Forget, Vermillions)

Hey guys loved the reaction! This is my first time on your channel and now i am your newest sub :-) Ive been a maggot ((Slipknot's endearing (seriously) term for their fans)) since 2000 which was about a year after their first album came out. I found them at a time that I was coming clean from a drug addiction and since then Slipknot has been my favorite band. Corey's lyrics are incredible, although several of the band members help write lyrics to a lot of the band's songs. He is one of the few singers with a 6 octave voice and the guy can rap too! His other popular band is Stone Sour which is the hard rock band he had fronted for years before some of the Slipknot guys asked him to be their singer. Stone Sour really lets you get to hear the amazing vocal range of the very talented Corey Taylor. I highly suggest you guys check out Stone Sour's latest album which is Hydrograd. It has a really feel good, rock n roll feeling to it (think Rolling Stones but a bit heavier). Heres a little history...The two songs from Slipknot that you've done videos on are from their first album. The second album, Iowa is their most brutal and they did that simply because the record company told them that they wanted something with more radio friendly songs lol. Then Corey got Stone Sour into the studio because although, he loved being in Slipknot, he also loves the more melodic singing that he can do and he felt like he was missing out on some things musically. So they made their first studio album and just like that, Corey was singing for two popular bands. Stone Sour has since released four additional studio albums. One of which, The House Of Gold And Bones Parts 1&2 is a double (kinda concept) album. Slipknot's third album, Vol. 3 The Subliminal Verses is their most melodic and has one of their other most popular songs, Duality. And also has the song Before I Forget which they won a Grammy for. Slipknot's fourth album is All Hope Is Gone which as they said is a mix of the heaviness from the first two albums and the melodic from the third. This album has my request #Slipknot Snuff ColoradoSpringsCO Corey stated in an interview that Snuff was the first song that he fully wrote all the lyrics and music for. He said that normally a slow song like that would be a Stone Sour song but this one was "Slipknot heavy". Heavy being the feeling from it, not the musical style. It is a song he wrote during a time when he was going through a terrible amount bad things and loss...relationship wise and more. He wasn't sure how the band would accept it but it was their bassist Paul Grey who completely got behind it and pushed everyone to play and record it. Approximately a year after the song was released, Paul Grey was found dead from an accidental overdose. Corey and Paul were extremely close so, because of that and because Paul loved that song so much, since Paul's death whenever Corey performs the song he dedicates it to the memory of his fallen brother. The video is absolutely incredible and emotional. It was directed by Slipknot's percussionist Shawn "Clown" Crahan. Even if you do not do a reaction video to it, please do yourself a favor and watch the video. Kel made the great point of how you shouldn't judge a book by its cover, so this will 100% give her statement solid roots :-) Plus it stars Corey...without his mask!! I am sorry for the novel, I just have the utmost respect for that band and especially Corey Taylor. Oh and he has also written four books which have all done very well and are absolutely great reads. He even does solo/book tour concerts which start with a 45 minute stand up comedy-ish routine, followed by a Q&A from audience members and then he plays an acoustic set for over an hour. I have been to two of those shows as well as four Slipknot shows and seven Stone Sour shows. I got to meet Corey at a Stone Sour show and he is insanely down to earth, humble and truly loves his fans. Please do yourself another favor and go see Corey live. Slipknot is the ultimate live but you will not be disappointed one bit with either of the other two live events which he is a part of either.

#Slipknot #MelbourneAustralia Kels smile is so contagious, was great seeing your reaction to my favourite Slipknot performance. Some of my favorites that you guys have gotta react to (on/off camera): From the self titled album ('99): Sic, Liberate, Scissors, Only One. Being from their first album, these songs showcase Slipknot in their most authentic form, the self titled album is definitely the most raw album they have produced. Sic is one of their most iconic songs, being the opening to every live show theyve done and it epitomizes what the band stands for. Liberate and Only One highlights Corey Taylors rapping abilities, as well as the 'in your face', pump you up for a fight feel you got from Eyeless - I found these to be the better Slipknot songs as they aren't as deep and disturbing as their other stuff. Speaking of which, I recommended Scissors just so you could have a look into the insanity they were capable to show - a very dark song, but one of their most progressive ones. From Iowa album ('01): Some say the Iowa album is their most brutal and disturbing album, in which I would agree but I found it to be a little contrived in some of the tracks. None the less, I rank it closly behind the first album and it contains some of my all time favourites which I'd love for you to listen to which include: People = Shit (As poetic as the name suggests, also I recommend watching the live performance from London in '02 for a video despite it being less cohesive than the studio version), Gently, Heretic Anthem and Disasterpiece. All very heavy songs, with the band saying this was the darkest time for the band (i'm talking drugs, alcoholism, hatred for eachother, death (refer to 555), and self harm (Read up on the story of the song Iowa). Other great songs from Slipknot between then and now: - Vermillion Part 2 - Snuff (Recommend the Acoustic version performed by Corey live) - Psychosocial - Dead Memories - Gematria - Killpop - Devil In I - Custer What you'll find from some of these songs is a gentle side of Slipknot which you would not have known existed judging by their earlir work. Theres structure to these songs and their more melodic with minimal screaming, as you get to hear more levels to Coreys vocal range which changes not only with his age but to the tone of slower songs. I know this is long but I thought I'd let you know a little about the band! I actually quite enjoyed writing this comment lol. Hope you guys see this in which case I hope you both have a lovely day! - from all the way down under
