Funny how even a full choir can't measure up to how this sounded when Simen Hestnæs sung those lines.

My favourite band, and I discovered them over 11 years ago. Almost every album of theirs has a unique style/sound to it. My favourite of theirs is their 2001 masterpiece "Puritanical Euphoric Misanthropia". I HIGHLY recommend their songs "Indoctrination" and "Hybrid Stigmata".

Dimmu Borgir (/ˌdɪmuː ˈbɔːrɡɪər/) is a Norwegian symphonic black metal band from Oslo, Norway, formed in 1993. The name is derived from Dimmuborgir, a volcanic formation in Iceland, the name of which means "dark cities" or "dark castles/fortresses" in Icelandic, Faroese and Old Norse.

Happy Birthday! And I am so happy you liked Dimmu Borgir so much, I was very confident you would :)) I will see Dimmu Borgir in July and can't wait for it :D I think you will find Septicflesh equally good, even through they're a bit more heavy, but their combination of choir and orchestra with an experimental touch is something you will be hooked on! I think Portrait of a Headless Man or Dark Art will be good choices from the most recent album.

Please do a reaction to this live version of Mayhem - Life Eternal: kzbin.info/www/bejne/anuynHiGapunhNU Mayhem, was a formative band in the development of Norwegian black metal. Despite not being the first full length release in the Norwegian 2nd wave of black metal, Mayhem's De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas, (which this track is taken from,) It certainly was a monumental release when it came out, and it still holds up just as well today.
