Kelp Shake stands are a parody of Starbucks coffee chains, which have a reputation of suddenly popping up in large numbers all over the place. Also, Plankton's abnormal hair has a head-hairstyle similar to Albert Einstein. Since Plankton has an interest in science, this hairstyle that he has developed is rather suitable.

I never thought a twist in a SpongeBob episode would make me think about the weirdness of grammar. How odd is it that the opposite of wild not only rhymes with it, but has only one letter difference, and the letter in question looks like an upside down version of it's different letter?
