Kelpies Rule! The guarding aspect is really part of their herding instinct, which is super super strong. Kelpies are totally fearless, tireless, hard as nails as far as work ethic, and as you know need a huge amount of exercise and mental stimulation. Just another day in the life of a Kelpie, bloody grouse mates!

Thanks Mark, totally agree with you. The herding instinct is colossal in kelpies and without mental stimulation and exercise they can become very anxious. But if you can meet those needs they are epic mates! Let us know if there is any topics you would like us to cover in videos. Enjoy your day .

Good job Rooster! I love kelpies my Kelpie Maxwell is awesome and he took on 2 raccoons during the day who were up to no good. Held em off till I got out there and shot them. A .22 rifle is a good anti fox tool as well. (you might have to get an air rifle because of your government).

It's amazing how they know what's going on outside even though they're inside, their senses seem quite superior to ours. I assume he heard the commotion between the duck and fox with his amazing hearing. Might even have smelled the fox from inside. Funny how he was down in spirits after the encounter. I wonder whether he thought you guys were rousing on him during the excitement or were blaming him for the duck being attacked. Or simply just sad that he felt he failed in his guardian duty. Anyway I love your setup in the backyard I saw from the little walk-around, that's the good life.

Hi Alan, I appreciate the message. You are right the senses he possesses are far superior to ours. I wondered the same thing about his emotions after the attack. As for the duck, she is back laying and looking strong. Thanks for the complement regarding the backyard setup. It keeps us busy but produces a lot of food. Thanks again, Grant and Sofia
