The Raven is significantly larger than the Kelty strike, but has some of the same Structural components that you would find On the strike pack. The Raven was designed to be a comms operator assault pack allowing RTO To carry a radio, replacement battery , as well as a full combat load and equipment for multiple day use. The map 3500 was Meant to be an off the shelf assault pack for special operations, similar to the Blackhawk backpacks That had been developed. The kelty strike, text most of the best attributes of the map 3500, and enhance them. Instead of mesh bags to hold water bottles, you have zip-up bags on either side of the pack. You also have pass through pockets that run on the inside of those external pouches, allowing you to carry extra equipment, more water etc.

You just pay more for tan and the word tactical, I suggest a Kelty Redwing 50 Sea to Summit Event compression sack USGI Bivy Kelty Cosmic 20° Thermarest isomat Kelty Redwing 50 (or other packs depending, this one is the best mid sized) --US Marine Corps-US Army-Train Hopper-Homeless Traveller.

So far I've really enjoyed my Kelty packs. I have a Redwing and an External Frame pack and both have served me well.. I really want to get out in the woods as soon as possible. Not sure I am geared for winter though. Thanks for the video

Great pack. I picked this one up myself last year. I love the color, but specifically I picked it up BECAUSE it didnt have any molle. I was looking for military grade, yet wanting to avoid that typical look. I own enough military specific gear the way it is. This pack gives me mil-spec grade, yet doesn't look so tacticool for daily hiking use.

have you tried the map 3500, how do you think they Comare? which is the better bang for the buck for the average soldier in garison, and likes to go on little day hikes in the desert

Wandering Beast one more question sorry to bug. If there is another pack you would absolutely recommend over this one what would it be?
@WanderingBeast10 жыл бұрын
pretty open question, what do you want the bag for?
@gmurs503610 жыл бұрын
This would just be a bag for hiking/over nighters/minimal camp, light travel (carry on), school if needed( I have a lot of books and a big laptop). I have a TT modular operator pack but it doesn't handle past a certain amount of weight well weight well.
@WanderingBeast10 жыл бұрын
I would say it would work just fine

@beast12101 I have a Kelty Strike. That's an assaultpack: Meaning the suspension belt is wearing above the hip across the navel. So the back-muscles are used more then I like and the load is not on the hipbone I like a longer daypack, so the weight is not on the shoulders. Using the load lifters pulling the pack towards the nek and shoulders without putting weight on it. How do you like the Strike in that regard? Searching for that ultimate pack!! Have you experiances with the Redwing or Map?

They are great but I had one break on me the other day
