@Notavictim you're unaware that women's rights are being eroded? How can you comment when you're uninformed? In the UK, women are being hounded out of jobs for expressing perfectly ordinary views, or have you missed the various tribunals? Many women won't have the means to take legal action. People are getting away with bullying women - the UK is doing slightly better than some other countries but only because some brave individuals have stood up. However, many rights, such as access to female only spaces, have been eroded. It's depressing that it's necessary, but women are once again having to fight for their rights.

Isla Bryson was temporarily housed in a women's prison while a risk assessment was done regarding her time in prison. While she was there she was housed separately from the general population. The risk assessment found that she would be more suited to a men's prison given the recency of her transition, and she was then moved to a men's prison. This all happened over a year ago, and this is all standard procedure so any governor who is worried is just ignorant of the current legislation. The idea that she's just been dumped in a women's prison without any thought or consideration is complete misinformation, although unfortunately exactly what we've come to expect from Kemi Badenoch.

On the toilet story, assuming it's true, i obviously feel terrible for the woman but stick figures on doors aren't going to stop rapists. The thing that makes toilets safe generally is that they a kind of public space; any number of people could walk in at any time. It's pretty common nowadays for toilets to be unisex, it makes no difference because why would it?
@Coelacanth17 ай бұрын
Even when toilets aren't unisex only a toilet attendant can stop the wrong sort walking in.

That’s not the point at all, and tbh that is an awful take. You’re basically saying signs on doors won’t stop rapists so just allow any men into women’s toilets because it won’t make a difference. No. If you allow (in law) males to enter women’s spaces, they cannot be challenged, and the risk factor increases. Dignity and privacy come into this as well as safety.
