QUICK NOTE BEFORE YOU COMMENT: The guitar I used for this demo was the Epiphone Yungblud SG Junior, which has a P90 pickup (sorry I didn't actually show myself playing it), but that explains any "hissing" or extra noise you hear. I've been seeing a lot of comments about the unit itself is noisy, that is not the case at all, I promise. It's simply some 60 cycle hum from the pickup. Remember that is also has a noise gate built in as well and works great with other pedals, so if you have your own, you can use that as well!

I've just ordered one of these as an upgrade to my Cube Baby - which is an excellent piece of kit. The extra reverb, delay and modulation modes - in conjunction with 36 preset slots - are going to be invaluable... and I've already got a set of IRs to load. As far as noise levels are concerned - there's the noise gate to play with and I'm not all that interested with any amp models beyond the clean and slightly overdriven, as I play folk, jazz and blues - and I'd rather hear the music than a 'wall of distorted noise'. As far as the output goes - I've got my lovely Orange combo... and a big 60W bluetooth speaker with an 'aux-in'; I'll be fully sorted for a mains-free portable solution - just what I need for a night out at the local music club!

Thanks for the review. You’re providing a great service with the gear demos. All the gear you used is on the more affordable side. It sounded very good. The 70/80s aren’t my favorite but they actually do good with modelers going into power amp and cab because they have a more full and mild range of guitar frequencies. At least that’s what I hear around the block. $80 modeler with effects is crazy.

yup lol I took out all of the Seventy 80's out of all the 2X12 Marshall cabs I bought because Vintage 30's cut through so much better so loaded them all up with those. BUT! I had two other 2X12 cabs with v30's and finally decided to just get two more Marshall cabs so everything looked more professional on a stage So I swapped and put the Seventy 80's from those Marshal cabs into the two other cabs and tried to sell them. Sold the Avatar for dirt cheap ($175 slanted) and couldn't sell the CGM which was louder and had more bottom. One day I was trying out some solid state bass amps with my guitar modelers and plugged in a 200 watt Dark Glass micro amp into my Bugera 1X12 and I never could get that 1X12 to sound worth a hoot. Too loud for quiet practicing and not loud enough to crank. So I plugged it into that CGM loaded with Seventy 80's and holy !@#$%! well put it this way, I took it off Craigslist immediately and I'm holding on to that thing!!! And they now kept right up with the 2x12 Marshall cab loaded with vintage 30s!! I still prefer the tone of the 30's but they mostly sound different not necessarily better. Prior to that I thought they were really crummy speakers. But not anymore

The only thing stopping me and the only 3 other punk rockers in my entire high school….small remote west TX town… back in the 70s was gear being obscenely expensive. If we would have had the cheap but good gear which is around now, plus with DAWs to record with, we would have been able to have a band. Owning a decent guitar/amp, a drumkit, etc was something most people only fantasized about. There weren’t Squiers and affordable versions of anything like there is now. It took over a year of flipping burgers and scrubbing urinals for me to wind up with a Fender Mustang ( cheap used, cos the more arcane types of guitars then weren’t prized the way they are now; in fact the hippies in the music store laughed at me for buying it, lol. Hey, as long as I offended hippies, all good) and a used Peavey Pacer, which was the worst-sounding amp they ever made; any other Peavey I played later was 500x better than that one. Better late than never on the eventual arrival of The Golden Age Of Gear.

A lot of pedals like this are designed that way, from what I've seen. Not really a bad design unless you HAVE to switch that way while you're playing live or something.
@BAND-MAID-USA3 ай бұрын
@@Electric.Flamingoand it’s a design flaw on all of them. Maybe a separate 2 or 3 button footswitcher could be plugged in on this but I doubt it. If you’re a live player anything that requires simultaneously pressing 2 buttons or switches is just a massive, NOPE. It’s an extremely simple programming code to make the switches long press and short press. They could have easily made it a long press instead of needing to simultaneously pressing 2 different buttons. Switching patches/scenes etc live is basically the most important part of the setup. I know you can’t get it all for $80 but this would have been a 10 second programming change that would have made this thing so much more useable for live shows. Again, it is only $80 and having an XLR is pretty cool. And if the IR’s sound good that’s pretty sweet too. But having to press both switches at same time makes it unusable for most ppl live. Shit even at home it’d be a pain in the ass. But then again. Only $80 and I can give them some serious credit for that.

Is the battery replaceable, or is it basically a disposable effects unit? Not having to plug it in is one thing, not being able to is different. I stopped using batteries years ago. I got a pedal board with its own power supply. 9 Volt batteries got too expensive. At least it looks like you can turn this thing off. Pedals are always on until you unplug the cord. Which leads to dead batteries on the second night of a two night gig, when you forget to unplug something. Running around at the last minute to find someplace to buy 9 volt batteries kind of sucks. If the battery is not replaceable, I can see a time where the battery is dead before the gig is over. Now what do you do.

I just watch the video on the PLAYWELL Tank-G...the purple one. Except for the color they look exactly the same. But one is Lacato and the other one is Playwell. Are they basically the same?

@hummarstraful5 ай бұрын
You shouldn't have used a wireless. Having said that it just sounds okay. With a lot of processing in the mixing it could sound really cool though.

Well, more or less, I used it because it was also a Lekato product I had.

I can actually see him without all the massive blurring in the back and front like the silly channels focusing on "Cinematic" video instead of focusing on the actual demo of the product. Every channel that is doing that should be banned from KZbin, we are not here to look at blurred backgrounds or the over the top led light show lol.

It's to noisy I don't have any humming or static on my rig .good for beginner to start .

I am using a P90 to demonstrate the sounds, so I think that was my fault. It's some 60 cycle hum and again, it has a built in noise gate that works great.

A lot of hissing noise when you stop playing....

Lots of gain on tap. Utilizing the built in noise gate can help with that!

I actually like it when compared to Mooer, NUX, Valeton. Won't say it's better or worse, but I like it better for the simplicity and stompboard it has. It's right there along with the other budget modelers brands imo.
@SoloSi20245 ай бұрын
To be honest, the expensive units all have far too many models! You're never gonna need 50 different metal tones. Once an amp is overdriven, you'll have a tough job distinguishing it from another. You would never use that many live either.
@Electric.Flamingo5 ай бұрын
Very true. With this, you have like 8 amps and 7 IRs with 5 effects. And it does the job.

Epic fail to not have an option to run an AC adapter. I don't trust battery only and it will stop holding a charge over time.

Yeah, but for $80 and if you take care of it, you would more than get your money's worth out of it.

Anybody that’s even slightly tech savvy, could drill a tiny hole in the back of it and install a pin jack that you could hook up an external AC adapter to it , plenty easy to do..

Claickbait isn't going to get you anywhere. This sounds nothing like, nor has anything close to an AXEFX. Clickbait gets the downvote, everytime. make better videos and you won't need to do this.

I'm not trying to shit on you dude, but you know you can do better. Sorry if I come from a time when people looked at dishonest advertising and called it for what it was. I could have been a sub for a mediocre channel, but when there are better, honest channels out there that don't rely on bullshit nefarious tactics, I'll go there. Money is hard to come by when you don't live at home with mummy and daddy.
@Electric.Flamingo3 ай бұрын
How exactly can I "do better" though? I demonstrated a product pretty well, I think and gave an honest opinion. Is the thumbnail and title clickbaity? Yeah, but that's the game. Obviously, the Kemper is better than this. But, for someone on a budget or just getting into this type of stuff, it's great. Maybe someone who is looking for an alternative will search for "Kemper alternative" and this could come up. Is it truly? No. Is it kinda? Yeah, kinda in a way.

Whether you like this kind of digital gear or not, it is a testament to how inexpensive or cheap SMT / surface mount technology is to make. 99% of FX pedals made today are SMT builds. Boutique gear means nothing today, I digress. Think about $12.00 per unit but you pay 199.99 Cheap micro parts that can't be repaired. I find these greedy #$$%%^ disgusting. A EYE has taken over the industry because guitars, amps, pedals , keys ETC. are dirt cheap to make. The only ones who benefit is them. Do your research. They play on your ignorance, don't be a dumb as.
