KEN COOK'S 46 YEARS OF HYDROFOILING -- MACH 1 ?

Since 1974 Ken Cook has been designing and building hydrofoils. His early interest were inspired by racing high speed hydroplanes. Even though Ken is now a senior hydrofoiler, he still dreams of going mach-one with his wings underwater. Watch his video and see if you agree or not in the possibilities of extreme high speeds. He is also an advocate of cargo and passenger carrying trans-oceanic hydrofoils. Expect to see some creative and unconventional thinking about what the future may bring for hydrofoils. Dear Mr. Cook, so nice to see you as such a inspiring and motivation driven person, you really made my day. With the water speed record with Mach-1, I am in. Just keep it unmanned for the beginning...As you are saying, the hydroplanes as available for races can be designed better by making them aerodynamically stable. Not easy in ground effect with varying height over ground, but possible as you show yourself and ekranoplane systems. Keep on doing educational videos, it is something which will trigger a new generation to reach out for new exceptional world record systems :-)

This is a nice view of what came after the Boeing days. I wonder if the High Point could be converted to use super supercavitating foils and props?
