I played the hell out of Major League Baseball featuring Ken Griffey Jr, the title that was released on the N64 before this one. In my opinion, it's the superior release. It still had the arcade feel, but seemed sprinkled a little more with a simulation aspect. Slugfest just made it into a full-blown arcade game, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but the first release blew me away, especially at the time it came out. I played through an entire season in MLB featuring Ken Griffey Jr and loved every minute of it. I also bought Slugfest, although didn't enjoy it as much. One little awesome touch that MLB featuting Ken Griffey Jr had, which was removed from Slugfest was animated crowds. You could actually see the crowd moving during the game. One of the best uses of this was when you'd be playing a game and if the home team was losing the game by a large margin, the stands would start to clear out and people would go home. It was a nice, hilarious touch that was sadly missing from Slugfest with it's flat, lifeless crowd. However, Slugfest had the advantage, visually, with it's hi-res graphics. All in all, both fun games, but MLB was one of the most memorable baseball experiences I had on the N64.

Hitting is so much harder in Slugfest. The previous one was more fun but it didn't have the difficulty settings for season mode so that kinda sucked

I actually liked the first Ken Griffey Baseball game more than Slugfest. I just found it to be more fun.

I had this game when I was a kid. I always really liked when you created a character, the announcer had the possibility to actually say the name of your character.

I had an EA baseball game for the N64, I think it was called Triple Play 2000 or something like that. It had a home run derby type gamemode in it, and character customization :D Maybe you could review it next?

I think baseball games are hard to look at because they all are so similar. Bases Loaded is just as good as any modern MLB game.

I feel like games like this really helped non fans to enjoy like you said. Games like the Mario Sport games did a great job of this too. This game was awesome! I think it's the best base ball game of the generation!

i got this game a few months back for 10 NIS, which is about 2.5$. since baseball isn't so popular here, the seller had this game and just wanted to get rid of it. im glad i did, this is a great game and i really enjoy it. i should check all star baseball.. waiting for your next review Glenn :)
