Morgan, do you know what drug Georgia takes before each of these broadcasts? She really does not act sober... I was close to suggest it might be a full Epidural, but she seems too giggly and silly-brained for that to be possible... (Ken seems more like overdosing on valium though, so they don't share...)

I find her absolutely hilarious, and Paul's quick and easy analogies combined with the clear arguments are excellent. Also, his cadence and voice make these videos easy listening. *Edit:* I also very much enjoy the less aggressive, or more calm approach than many other similar channels (although there's also a time and place for say... angry *Logicked* videos.)

The definition of "kind" is quite simple: It's whatever it needs to be to suit the current topic. It can be as narrow as an individual species (such as "raccoon") or as large as an entire domain (eg. "bacteria"). Or anything in between. Whatever serves the agenda the best in any given situation.

I've always found convergent evolution to be incredibly fascinating. Just observing how marsupials in and around Australia evolved to fill all of the niches in nature usually occupied by placental mammals is amazing. From the meekest of tree-dwelling specialized herbivores to a relatively ferocious canine/feline- like apex predator and everything in between, they did a great job of evolving to match their placental counterparts worldwide. Even the monotremes did the same in their own very special way. Fascinating! On another topic, I do not want these Christian schools receiving public tax money and tax breaks! I'm looking at you, Betsey DeVos! The whole concept is unconstitutional!

By the way. I loved how Georgia seemed to be explaining how the progression to humans happened, and wasn’t doing it so badly, and Ken had to say “according to evolution”. So either: -he thinks his audience won’t realize she’s talking about “what evolutionists say” and might actually believe this if they aren’t constantly reminded; -he thinks he needs to remind GEORGIA that they don’t believe that stuff. Like she was slipping and forgetting what she believes or not. Hilarious...

+Dark scot He's pretty weak and incompetent... After all a single "apple" could destroy his carefully planned and magically creeated "perfect" world, causing death, carnivorism, aging, childbirth/pain and sin related illnesses, psychical problems and addictions to POOF into existence and ruin the world. And god COULD DO NOTHING to stop it... (that is the generous interpretation, the malevolent one is "and god did not care and let it happen without trying to stop it" :D) Then it got so bad that he thought he should do something to get rid of all the sinners... he created the whole overly complicated scheme with flood and Big floating Box... and it did not take more than 2 or 3 generations and they were back at sinning again (tower of babel is less than 150 years after the flood, wasn't it? and while god is described as having totally douchy motives fort opposing the project ... aka jealousy and the fear to be outmiracled by a united humanity ... christians love to talk about how the thing was a symbol of sinful pride...) so he had a REALLY hard thinking session (probably on the loo with whatever dirty magazine god prefers... Maybe "Rib enthusiasts monthly"???) and JUST 2000 years later he came up with the brilliant plan to stage a fake blood sacrifice witha clone of himself so he could "forgive" all that sin and everything would be A-OK again. If there was a god school Yahweh definitely spent most of his time in kindergarten or the special needs section.

The urban (read: Dublin and its neighbourhood) Irish nowadays have a similar philosophy. They assert that since English is the language of the Invader, they're free to use it any way they want. Doesn't do much for their international reputation but I think it's admirable nonetheless.

Ah, the cultural differences in swearing. Croatian here. You know - Balkan Slav. We curse. Our languages, Croatian included, are practically made to string curses one after another, indefinitely. In fact, according to one study, 93% of all Croats curse daily. There are no such things as "bad words" over here. There are just words we teach children not to use in front of their teachers... Once you are an adult, anything goes. Swear words are considered a way to emphasize one's point, convey emotion, make a joke, or test authority. When a Croat swears at you, they are probably not trying to offend you at all - they are being friendly and relaxed. Instead, when the speech gets too formal, you better run cause the axes might be coming out soon.

By arguing young people leave the faith because secular schools trick them and churches don't properly instruct them, Ken Ham is saying God holds some people's souls at the mercy of what other people tell them about science. There would seem to be an inverse relationship between religiosity and education. :-) It makes perfect sense. The more educated, the less religious you are likely to be because you are less likely to believe in bs. In poorer areas where education is much lower religiosity is much higher. I just want to point out that venom comes in four major groups: necrotoxins (cell killers), neurotoxins (affect the nervous system in several different ways), myotoxins (damages muscles), and cytotoxins (which also damage cells). It is also delivered in a very wide array of mechanisms, from fangs to stingers to modified legs (centipedes) to skin secretions. That level of combinations lends itself more to mutation and natural selection than design.

I have seen several atheist say atheism is not religion because it is not a belief in a god. so what zen Buddhism they don't worship a god. So what is religion?
@daverobson30847 жыл бұрын
Religion is usually defined as a belief in the supernatural, usually involving rites or rituals. A such, not just any old "belief" is counted as a " religion". Believing that your car will be where you left it is not a religion. Believing that the sun will rise tomorrow is not a religion. Believing that if you go out in the rain you will get wet is not a religion.

@erictaylor54626 жыл бұрын
10:00 Actually I think a better, more precise way to state this is to say that a more educated person is less likely to attribute supernatural causes to events in the world. This completely avoids the word "religion" however you decide to define it. "Secularist" thinking does not include supernatural causes. Religion does.

Independent religious schooling is a plague that sacrifices the rights of kids to satisfy persistent loud special interests groups to the detriment of us all. I was raised in such insanity, I can say beyond any shadow of a doubt that the very fact my right to an education was sacrificed on the alter of politics was abuse. After many years hard work, I had to throw everything away & start from square 1 again... Eventually the cost was I dropped out of school, I was smart & could have gone almost anywhere if my education hasn't been maliciously sabotaged... Over the years, I've made up for that mistake but it truly devastated my potential. The innately dishonest adversarial relationship between students/educators permanently stalled even future healthy relationships with educators. They teach such a random mix of lies, half truths & vaguely true BS that you end up being unable to trust any of it. Adam

Something Ken Ham said gave me a really good idea! I know that sounds contradictory, but Ken Ham and many religious seem to have a huge issue with ObamaCare, right? This would probably work best with the Church of Latter Day Saints, because of their existing structure, but why don’t the Mormons set up their own Healthcare network, MormonCare? Everyone who is a Temple Member has access to sign up for an inexpensive healthcare network. They would be running it as a religious “non-profit”, so if Kaiser can make a lot of money as a Healthcare business, shouldn’t they be able to offer good healthcare and pass the savings of not needing to make a profit and not paying any taxes on to their congregation? They could probably even generate more donations by selling it to the congregation as helping their fellow Mormon Brothers & Sisters who aren’t blessed enough to have employer healthcare? They could probably even headhunt Mormons who already work in the Health insurance industry, to come work for them, as part of their Mormon duty, to help set up a successful model. This also has a dual purpose of keeping people in their Church and active, so they don’t lose their Healthcare. It makes you wonder why they haven’t tried it?
