The red, green, and orange lights on high-speed rail seats indicate the following meanings: Red light: This seat has already been sold. Green light: This seat has not been sold for the current and next stations. Orange light: This seat has been sold to a passenger boarding at the next station. The main purpose is to help passengers with standing-room-only tickets identify seat availability.

Ken, you should have asked the waitress at the restaurant for direction to get to the Yellow crane tower (using the Chinese name as translated on your phone). If the hotel says it is right by a certain location, it would means that location must be a popular tourist attraction spot and the locals would know it. That would have saved you a lot of walking. I am an American who travels a lot and have done so everytime I am not sure on getting to certain place. Chinese are generally very helpful and will seek their colleagues if they are unsure themselves on what you needed.

I'm from Wuhan. The lockdown in 2020 lasted for around 70 days. During that time, we ordered food or other daily necessities through app on our phones. Volunteers or other delivery man would send the supplies to the appointed places in the community. Actually, Wuhan's response in 2020 was praiseworthy. At that time, everyone was panic. They built two temporary hospitals and all other provinces across the country sent supplies and medical workers to Wuhan. These news were actually encouraging. But the response to the second epidemic in 2022 made many people unhappy. (I guess there might be some pharmaceutical companies that make a lot of money from it)

The first stop on the train which you said you’ve never heard of is Luoyang. As you predicted, it has a population of over 7 million! It is an ancient city and one of the oldest in China. It is located in what is widely recognized as the region where Chinese civilization originated, Central Henan Province. It has also been the capital of China during multiple dynasties and the earliest of the Four Great Ancient Capitals. Additionally, it has one of the oldest Buddhist temples in China, founded in the 1st century. Just some fun facts I’d thought it’d be nice for you to know. Great video as always.

China's high-speed trains come in many different models, and even trains of the same model may have different configurations for different routes. For example, some trains have only 8 carriages, while others have 16. When these trains stop at the same platform, the positions of the doors corresponding to the carriage numbers will vary. Therefore, after you pass the ticket check and enter the platform, the platform screen will indicate the color-coded signs corresponding to the carriage doors for your train. For instance, on your trip, you are likely traveling on a CRH AF400 type double-unit train, which has 16 carriages. The door positions for this train correspond to the green markers on the ground. The two uncles you asked were trying to tell you to look for the green markers. Since your carriage is quite far from your current position, you need to quickly head in the other direction.

An interesting fact is that the city of Luoyang in the 7th century served as a reference model for the establishment of Kyoto (Heiankyo) in Japan. In the 7th century, Tang Dynasty was the strongest country in the world, and the emperor of Japan at that time decided to learn the Tang Dynasty's political and social system (called Taika no Kaishin(たいかのかいしん) or Great Transformation, similar to how Emperor Meiji learned from the West in the 19th century). At that time, the new capital of Japan was almost a miniature replica of one of the two capitals of Tang Dynasty, Luoyang. Nearly 1000 years later, the warlords of Japan in the Sengoku period still referred to entering Kyoto to meet the emperor as jo-rakku (じょうらく,上洛), meaning "going to Luoyang". It's worth mentioning that the other capital you have visited is Xi'an, which was called Chang'an at the time and meant eternal peace. Xi'an was the starting point of the Silk Road and the largest city in the world at the time.

1、 5:10, that guy told you: watch the green sign, which means the stop location of each car of a 16 cars trains. There are two length of high speed train in China, 8 cars or 16 cars. A 16 cars train is just made out of by linking two 8 cars trains head to head. So if there is a 9'th car, means it's a 16 cars train, you have to follow the green sign. 2、 9:34, Luoyang(洛阳)is actually quite famous, it used to be the capital city of China for many dynesties. So it also went through a lot of wars and chaos in history, destroyed and rebuilds, now it's not even the capital of the province it belongs. 3、 15:09, The city of Wuhan(武汉) is formed by 3 towns, Wuchang(武昌), Hankou(汉口), and Hanyang(汉阳), Wuchang and Hankou has its own train station. If you took a convensional train 20 years ago, there is no train station called "Wuhan", only the staion of Wuchang and the station of Hankou. The Wuhan station was build in 2006, and opened in 2009, mostly for high speed rails. That's why there are 3 train stations in Wuhan city. 4、 34:30, Wuhan is located at the conjonction of the Han river and the Yangtze river. That bridge on the painting, is the first bridge across the Yangtze river in Wuhan, which is a double layer bridge, with road on the top and railways below.

Color analysis of high-speed rail seat indicator lights 🚄 Have you noticed the indicator lights on your seats while taking the high-speed train? What do these indicator lights represent respectively? Let's learn about it together! 🟢 Green indicator light: indicates that the seat is empty at both the current and next stations, and you can sit down with peace of mind. 🟠 Orange indicator light: indicates that the seat is unoccupied at the current station, but there is someone at the next station. Please only sit for one station. 🔴 Red indicator light: indicates that the seat is occupied at the current station. 📌 If you notice a red light on your seat and there is no one for a long time, it may be because the passenger failed to catch the train. At this time, you can sit down with peace of mind. By using these simple color indicators, you can better plan your seating choices and ensure a comfortable journey.

As someone who has traveled extensively in China I appreciate your perspective for those who might be visiting for the first time. I think it's spot on. The ability to have your ticket associated with your passport is relatively new. In the 'old' days (1990's) you needed a paper ticket and it could take quite an effort to get (wait for hours sometimes in a train station ticket line). When they went electronic at first it only worked for Chinese citizens with an ID card. A foreign passport required standing in line still for a paper ticket. Now even foreign passports can be linked but you have to go through a special line as the normal line can only scan the Chinese ID (as you showed). Also, I have had the same problem with map apps and language issues. We were in Greece recently and I would get addresses and directions in Greek. It was all Greek to me.

To figure out which station in the city you're arriving at, "Wuhan" without any other words on your ticket, means the station with the exact name of "Wuhan Station". Chinese train stations use unique names. Usually if one station in a certain city uses the name of the city, other stations within the same city will use different names. If you look at the names of other stations, the two other major ones are Wuchang station and Hankou station. They will be mentioned as "Wuchang" or "Hankou" on your ticket. Taking another example, your departure station in Xi'an is probably Xi'anbei (Xi'an North, "bei" means "north"), which is the station for most high-speed trains in Xi'an. There is also another station called "Xi'an Station", mostly for regular (low-speed) trains. These two will be referred to as Xi'anbei / Xi'an on your tickets.
@fenghe7825
@fenghe7825 7 сағат бұрын
Exactly! And the name of Wuhan railway station is 武汉站(Wuhan station) in Baidu maps or Gaode maps. In most cases, 站 specifically refers to railway station in map apps. Just type 武汉站 in the search box of the map apps, and then the first result is usually what you want. You can check its location or navigate. If you want to go somewhere by bus or metro, the map apps will tell you everything, including the right metro exit. In addition, Xianbei railway station is 西安北站 in the map apps. Wuchang railway station is 武昌站. Hankou railway station is 汉口站.

Watching your video again after a few months gave me an inexplicable feeling of oppression and tension. Having worked with Germans for decades, I am more than familiar with this. Travelling should be relaxing. You should buy a local 5G phone card in China and have a local phone number to make travelling much easier. Ask a lot of questions when you get stuck. Especially in China, people are very hospitable.

That man said that you should check the number on green plate on the ground. The train carriage number differs so you need to figure out which colour a particular train uses. This information usually is given on the eletronic screen hanging overhead facing the staircase leading to the platform. You must have missed it as it was written in Chinese. Next time you could pay attention to the screen and if you see character highlighted with a different colour, that's the one on the ground you should check for finding your train carriage number.

I'm Chinese,in my view NO.g1166 train was corresponding with the green color's car number,not the purple one.Absolutely here is NO.8 car sign,but its color is purple,the green number is 16.Becuase Chinese high-speed train has varies grouping method,some of trains are long,some of are short.So different train its car location is different.In platform,you can see the LED hanging above it,it shows the train's corresponding color,and follow the color to find corresponding color number car.Have a good time!

Ken, welcome to Wuhan for tourism. Here are some suggestions for you and other friends who come to travel, hoping that your trip goes smoothly: Actually, at the airport, before boarding the subway, you passed by a tourist assistance center. The staff there will help you check the detailed route to the hotel, and then you can take photos or record videos. Most airports and stations have similar windows. There are more than one map app in China, such as WeChat Maps, Baidu Maps, Gaode Maps, and so on. Not every app must use a local phone number. Even if you miss the above methods, you can always ask anyone you see. Although most of them do not speak English, the translated place names and iconic buildings can still be easily determined. The probability of Starbucks employees using English is higher. In China, the police provide assistance to people, and if you get lost, you can always seek help from the police on the street.

Ken, I really suggest you buy an AI translation device,which can be used in 190+ countries, translates 85 languages, and can be used without internet. This will help make your travels around the world more convenient. If you are still in China, you can also purchase an AR smart glasses online (delivery takes only 3 days), which are more affordable and user-friendly, so that you can talk directly to the locals.Hope you have a nice trip!❤(My apologies for the repeated comment, as KZbin deleted my previous comment content.)

if you are saying a couple weeks or more in china, get a local number. just stop by any telecom shop in the city and you can get a sim for around $15. you can do so much more when you have a local number so everything becomes much easier. just imagine if you don't have one of the payment apps in china so yes having a local number is just as useful. having both main payment apps is even better 😉
