As a Caymanian I am happy they are getting rid of the green iguanas but I am disgusted that they are killing the feral chickens. They have been here as long as there have been humans. I know of a community that has wild chickens. They stay in this one area for some reason between certain highways and roads. The people there send their kids out to find eggs. Every day is an egg hunt. The chickens are also trapped, especially the roosters are sought after. The chickens become dinner. no one seems to really complain that benefit from the chickens especially. (I am a chicken fancier… but I’m 100% aware of the facts of life if you’re an omnivore)
