You guys... they are not doing the same thing. Kendrick is not going to play Drake's game and Drake cannot play Kendrick's game. Kendrick's whole point is that he is not doing this for fame, he is doing it for the art. So judging him based on public opinion and how Drake fans and casuals view the beef doesn't make sense. You can't judge the battle based on the reaction or the perception. You have to judge the bars. Otherwise you're playing Drake's game too.
@ClubAmbition
@ClubAmbition 2 ай бұрын
you have to play both their games... isnt that what objective means feel me? theres a way for a unanimous win, round 1 so far feels like that 2 days later for example

@@ClubAmbition I disagree. Kendrick is keeping it hip hop and Drake fans are pop fans; even if they had the attention span to dig into Kendrick's bars they wouldn't understand them. They are making music for 2 different audiences (with a small overlap), it's just that Drake's audience is so much bigger. I thought this diss track exposed how shallow Drake's bars and approach are, but his fans want shallow bars and weak memes. 🤷‍♂ Does that mean Drake "wins" because he has a bigger group of Stans?

I dont agree with Sound's argument. I dont think Kendrick needs to to 'stoop to Drake's level' to win. Thats just counter-productive on kendrick's end. Kendrick made it clear on both the Like That and Euphoria records, that to him its not about sales, or commercial appeal...to him its a genuine disapproval of Drake's overall stance in the hip hop game. He finds drake's moves throughout the years as distasteful and unnecessary. Listening to Drake's Push Ups record, i immediately got the impression that Drake catered the song for mostly the fans (considering the noise Like That stirred). Drake was trynna win back the public. But he got it "twisted like his braids" - kendrick's was catered for Drake. It wasnt for the fans. Kendrick knows that we know 90% of the stuff he mentioned on the song...so why state the obvious? Its not for the listener...its for Drake....its to let drake know that this shit is wayyyy too serious to be posting memes on IG or charting. This is a career defining moment for both MCs, And i think kendrick does a great job at comunicating that effectively. Kendrick used every major angle that has been used on Drake in round 1....now we know he is not going to repeat what he said on round 3. We all know kendrick isnt naive. This is driving Drake crazy For Sho 100%... he should slow down on the IG shit and sit in the booth.

Hindsight here. Then Kendrick went the Drake route and dropped Not Like Us. A bar heavy club bop. In a way this too can be perceived as an artistic move by Kdot. Kdot is telling Drake "I can do what you do but way better." It is a club banger, but also paying homage to the West Coast without disrepecting the region by relying on an AI Pac and Snoop.

It’s really hard to listen and take the under 30 serious when “evaluating” rap. So many of you grew up on Drake so there’s a nostalgia to him. He makes good party songs and fun one liners. I get it. But it’s ridiculous to even have Drake in greatest rap battler conversation since he has KNOWN ghost writers. There are battle rules and you can’t ignore them or change a narrative because it’s someone you like.

"Tommy Hilfiger stood out, but FUBU never had been your collection." is KDOT telling Drake you not from the hood/mud as you seem to claim you are. There was no money to buy Tommy, balenciaga etc in the hood, it was FUBU and POLO with everything else being rarely seen. As a teen early in the 90s-2000s you either sold drugs for money, or just didnt have any. There was no SOUNDCLOUD AND social media platforms to make money from. Hencing Drake won't understand this line, confirming what Kendrick is trying to tell ya'll, that this man is a persona and a character, hiding behind MOB ties to J prince.

I’m not particularly a fan of either Drake or Kendrick, although I respect both of them very much. I know that sounds type crazy but it’s just the truth. But because of that I’m able to not be bias during this whole thing. But I know everything about hip hop therefore mostly everything about both of them. @@ClubAmbition he got the name wrong and that’s it. If you need 3 paragraphs to try to find some little meaning with every one of them including that he could got something wrong, it’s cuz he did. The only meaning of that war was to set up the AI bar and off him bar. Saying he got the name wrong has a deeper meaning and all that shit is a giant reach. Dude is human and can make mistakes especially if he’s pressured to rap like he’s never rapped before in a feud
