Yall do know kendrick can critique the culture and critique drake at he same time right? Just like how 1985 is technically about nobody but it is considered to be a diss at people like Pump and Yachty. This is kendricks 1985 and its aimed at drake. I will not convinced elsewise. No other rapper has had as much influence over the culture that kendrick hates as much as drake has. Yall dont need to be obtuse
@vnoapvblo28324 ай бұрын
Nobody being obtuse bro but it’s pretty clear that this isn’t a diss towards drake at all, I wouldn’t even say it’s about “the culture” (as much as THP5 was.) it’s fully about society. The only reference to drake was “walking him down to do everybody a solid.” He just summarized the beef and made Drake a scapegoat for what he feels about society, there’s no round 2 or drake disses left

@@vnoapvblo2832 drake and the culture are entangled bruh. Drake being a sort of mascot to its downhill trajectory. "I make music that electrify them, you make music that pacify them" Pacify them to the point where kissing a 17 year old, being a grown man, texting teenage girls like a gay bsf when you pushing 30 has mostly been glossed over by people like Kai Cenat. Who ironically enough cut ties with his cameraman for texting a 17 year old even tho he was like 20 or 21 3 years ago. But he still listen to Drake and will react to new music even tho Drake was 23 and didn't stop the weird behavior with minors post that era. Bro was even caught on KICK a month or so ago collabing with a woman who gets girls/minors to flash the cam to creeps. There's so many breadcrumbs and CLEAR evidence being ignored, similar to R Kelly. Promoting and participating in gang violence while also condemning it "I hate when a rapper talk about guns, then somebody die, they turn into nuns, then hop online like "Pray for my city," he fakin' for likes and digital hugs"

It’s cultural commentary. Bigger than just Drake. The lyrics here sometimes lean biblical. I think the people who don’t care for him find Kendrick preachy, and pious. What rapper is known for dirty macking? What rapper used influencers as chess pieces during the beef? What rapper culture vultures different regions of hip hop to stay relevant? When you critique a culture you're critiquing it's leader as well because that's the reason the culture is what it is. Am I wrong?

Kendrick dissed Ak with verse in there directly AND indirectly every other glazer in one flow, then proceeeded to dismiss the internet glazer fanbases both his own and Drakes outright, yea he scolded his own glazers and glazing culture as a whole there. This isnt a diss track though per se, this is his closing remarks, and they are aimed more at music culture nowadays as a whole rather than one single person specifically. He is reprimanding them and praying for better days, while also simply choosing to move on and past the beef. Cause enough been done, no round 2's, its time to focus on him, and dismiss glazers, a b.s. wanna be glory culture, and the hype for more drama altogether. Yea real ones know, this the vibe, the beef is done, time to focus and tell everyone asking for more to keep waiting if they want, this aint what the culture is about. Righteous fr. Having said this, round 2 will only happen when Kendrick calls it, he don't want to be pressured by the internet, and honestly is choosing not to be now. So again, respect.

@@KingBenny brother I get it, but the message and purpose of this track is more important than few of the shots that Drake got in here. This is a critique on social media, current state of hip-hop, how surface-level minded people have become, the influence of music and the culture on youth. His whole line about breaking down and building it again embraces that thought. If we just took some Drake shots out of this whole track then it’s a disservice to why this was made and what Kendrick wanted people to interpret from this.
@KingBenny4 ай бұрын
@satyarthsingh2276 when 1985 released J cole dissed the culture that was brewing on SoundCloud. But because it was a critique of the culture people took it as a diss at lil pump and it stuck. This is the way things work. The heart part 5 was way more effective than this song in terms of putting out a critique of the culture as a whole rather than the culture that drake pushes. Which is obviously what this song is about
@satyarthsingh22764 ай бұрын
@@KingBenny yes, but that’s my point. same thing is happening here with most of the content creators which ofc I want lot less to happen coz it’s not like people do not get this. Creators like Rob Markman, Vibe Villa, Rare Breed Ent. caught on that. As you mentioned in the beginning of what Kendrick’s friend stated on twitter, I think Kendrick will explore these themes on later tracks or the album.
