That's because he legit loves music. Him and other rappers like Big Sean and Nas and Asap Ferg etc. Have expressed if they lost their record deals tomorrow they'd still dedicate their time to making music. That's passion right there

The band was ON POINT. The sound is something that is a result of the arena, and sound engineer, and a whole bunch of stuff people dont know or care about so when the mix is bad or he sounds "off" in regards to the album... ehh. Band was the shinning the point. Dude on bass had my attention and I'm a drum guy lol.
@Crwiii10 жыл бұрын
"in regards to the album.... Ehh" tell me you're joking, GKMC Was a classic LP.
@MrSofDe10 жыл бұрын
man the album is probably the most in depth album from the past decade ... this album is on the same level of what illmatic was when it first came out except with more attention. i don't understand how it was an "ehh" album
@mdjiles10 жыл бұрын
carl watkins Man shut the hell up nobody said anything bad about that album. Take your cape off fool.
@Crwiii10 жыл бұрын
Marcus Jiles nigga calm down, I never said anyone said anything bad about the album. I was suprised that people find the album "ehh", it's one of the most authentic hiphop LP's I've ever heard and embraces all the foundations hiphop was based upon and upholds, the fact it got universal critical acclaim in meta critic ratings and 91/100 is testament to that, but then again, drake fans and ho ass niggas hate on k.dot now because of that control verse that wasn't even a diss.
@mdjiles10 жыл бұрын
That's exactly what you did. You didnt read clearly, you misquoted me, AND took my words out of context. My "ehh" was how Kendrick sounded live... as in the mixing wasnt good which is why I commented on the band. Yall need to read instead of being so quick at the keyboard. READ. Take off your cape and READ.

@ryanlok17669 жыл бұрын
It's 2014, that's about 2 years past the release of Good Kid, M.A.A.D city. At this point he wouldn't perform songs to promote the album, rather to promote himself. Section.80 is still an album too

I agree that "m.a.a.d. city" doesn't translate the best with a live band but that "bitch, don't kill my vibe" rendition was amazing. Personally, I think it's better than standing in front of a DJ with your crew rapping every other bar for you..like some rappers I've seen live. I don't get how anyone in their right mind could hate on Kendrick. He's an intelligent dude who has things to say with his music-- he also seems like a decent guy. Doesn't do drugs and rap about bitches and cars. I am leaning towards the conclusion that the haters are probably just contrarians who hate on him because he's successful and gets regular radio play. He deserves it, though.
@richiedollabillz10 жыл бұрын
also there's nothing wrong with rapping about bitches and cars, either. I love that shit, too.

@bashbro1able10 жыл бұрын
Can someone please explain to me why people are so bent on live vocals? Honestly, live vocals usually don't sound very good at all aside from a ballad, but other than that, for rappers like Kendrick or performers like Michael Jackson or Justin Timberlake, it's a LOT harder to be entertaining and keep energy while singing/rapping, and then people want to get mad at them if they lip sync, when I'm pretty sure that trying to vocalize and perform to the best of your ability isn't good for your health. I'm not saying Kendrick is doing that here, but it just reminded me how stupid I think the lip syncing rage is. Let's be honest, the vocals in this live performance sounds horrible compared to the album version.
@bashbro1able9 жыл бұрын
***** Hm, okay. I still don't understand exactly. I think live vocals are generally horrible. People complain when somebody sounds bad, but then they complain when they lip sync. In my opinion, you have to have one or the other. I mean, I understand if somebody is lip syncing during a guest performance like at the vmas or the Grammys. That's pretty stupid. But when you're on tour, especially if you're a rapper or a dancer, then I think people need to cut those kinds of performers some slack. It's not that easy, and I should know.
@bashbro1able9 жыл бұрын
***** Oh, no you misunderstand me. My expectations for live vocals aren't high at all, in fact, my expectations are very low considering how bad I think most of them are. However, my point is why do people put so much focus on live vocals when they themselves complain if it's not to their liking. It's pretty dumb to me. My thing is that if you're a band or an artist that doesn't like to move around that much, then you have NO excuse to lip sync. My problem is when people complain about a solo artist who dances or something, then I think it's okay to lip sync a few songs on tour. Not everything, but just a couple just to maintain your voice and not damage/strain your health. Others don't seem to agree. Despite the fact that artists have hundreds of shows while on tour, barely getting much sleep, if they lip sync just a song or two to preserve their voice, they lose respect. It's really unfair if you ask me.
@hamxz29 жыл бұрын
bashbro1able Well unlike most singers that are born with their voice, rappers like Kendrick got his fame by his writing/rapping skills. It's harder to develop skills from nothing than using the voice you've been given. If you know what I mean. It's just highly unlikely for both to happen since "If their voice was given, they don't need to work any harder than they need to, to get rich." Gets a lot more tiring rapping like that if ya know what I mean.
@BigReggii9 жыл бұрын
bashbro1able Dude their rappers not singers; rappers don't have vocal notes. Also rap just like rock is way better live than their album you must never been to a hiphop concert. Now singing at a concert is different . But I lived thru the legends like Michael jacjson,Whitney and various 90s acts. Dude live concerts were the shit...it's your generation that's terrible.
@bashbro1able9 жыл бұрын
Reggie B I give no fucks to anything you just said.
