I saw a great take from someone that said when they were in the room with Tommy & the dancers that represented the 4 corners of hip hop. DJ (Tommy), emcee (Kendrick), dance & graffiti (the shirts the dancers wore). You even needed a secret code word to gain access to the culture

At one point I thought Drake’s ego is so big Not Like Us may not even be affecting him personally. But after seeing numerous videos of children aged 5-10 years old rapping the lyrics word for word I know he’s having nightmares because there’s no way Adonis hasn’t heard the record thousands of times by now. Not Like Us isn’t like Story of Adidon. Drake could ignore that and only real hip hop heads cared about. Not Like Us is a global hit that has people of all ages, races & cultures bumping it.

It's crazy how calculated kendrick is. Drake is not gonna be able to live this down. Next month is August. College football is starting up. HBCU bands will be playing "not like us" every game. The NFL will be playing it every break. When that dies down, the NBA will be playing it every game. When that dies down, it'll be May again and we'll be saying "a year ago today, kendrick released 'not like us'" and the song will ramp back up. Right after that, juneteenth. "A year ago today kendrick had the 'pop out' show." Right after that, on the 4th, "a year ago today, kendrick released the 'not like us' video." And the cycle just continues. Drake cannot live this down!

Kendrick is still taking it light. If he wanted to be viscious, and do what Drake did to Meek - it could be a lot worse. Drake was on tour performing in front of memes of Meek on the screen. Imagine if Kendrick went this route…. Everytime he said “A-Miiinooor” a collage of Drake. “You better hide your lil sister from him” - news articles on Him and Kylie Kardashian, and Ice Spice lil sister, and that teen model girl he was FaceTiming in the car with her mom and friend. The fact he is winning this bad, and he isn’t even going THAT hard, nor has he done ANY interviews or social media.. is actually crazy work.

When Kendrick left TDE, it was to begin ventures with his own company pgLAng, which is a company he built with Dave Free. Drake didn’t know nothing bout Dot. He thought Dot & Top had tension. It’s clearly still unity.. family.. love.. But Drake don’t know nothing bout that. He tried to project that Kendrick’s girl wasn’t his girl.. speculating Dave Free was in the mix.. Drake don’t know nothing bout Dad..
@topbackpodcast2615
@topbackpodcast2615 25 күн бұрын
Kendrick left purely as a business move. I truly believe Top Dawg letting him go was the most respectful thing he could’ve done for Kendrick. Because now Kendrick can own his own publishing and have more creative control. Unfortunately TDE is notoriously known for withholding artists music for strategic marketing purposes. But as you can see throughout the whole beef, Kendrick can operate whenever and whatever he wants at any given moment. Drake throughout the whole beef was just speculating and honestly trying to cause artificial beef amongst his own family and friends. To me that is absolutely corny. That’s why Meet the Grahams to me was such a smart diss song because throughout the whole track it’s just Kendrick talking to Drakes family one on one like a family intervention.

I don’t know when Day 1 started but I remember watching the Taylor Made Freestyle conversation. Rod and Feefo defended Drake amd thought the move was clever where Beezy and Ken thought it was garbage. If anyone has been saying it since Day 1, it’s been Ken. He never fell for the bullshit pushups and Taylor made records Drake put out and always knew Kendrick would fire back. Everyone should go back and watch the Taylor Made Freestyle conversation video.

A thought that crossed my mind earlier was that, if you ruminate on it, this whole beef is a real testament that Drake has been (as other mainstream artists) the biggest rapper, perhaps mainly out of marketing. If you consider that he did not seem to push or intend for "push ups" or "family matters" to be spread or advertised in his common fashion (push ups was even "leaked" first), you can make a serious correlation between the marketing and his success. I know i'm not discovering the wheel here, but it just crossed my mind that such hypothesis is now materialized. This meaning that his success has not so much to do with his skill or his fan's love, it has mostly to do with marketing, and Kendrick outperforming him numbers wise might prove that authenticity and artistry can't be forged.

Also with the ski-mask drake scene, It shows a hearse car with its headlights on zoomed in which is the same from Drake's second verse of the family matters video when the hearse was zoomed out not showing who the lights were on... I believe it mocks Drake's alleged "Red Button" due to him believing he had Kendrick when he snuck up on him, but when he approaches he is blown away due to Kendrick's ties with Compton/West Coast and his boogeyman persona that people compare him to as well. We know Dot loves his albums structured a certain way. If Not Like Us is on the album, this dismantling of Drake is far from over 💯

More proof that genuine Hip Hop always prevails. I knew Drake had made a mistake from Push Ups. I did NOT know Kendrick would break him down atom by atom and destroy his whole character lmfao. Great work! 😂

I don’t think it’s as over for Drake as you guys think. I do think it might not ever be the same for him he will be fine even though it might take a while but he’ll keep collaborating with artists and he will be charting again. I think Drake needs to stay away from beefing with artists and just focus on making quality focused music. Stay tf away from Kendrick because he doesn’t want that problem in his life anymore haha. Maybe even taking a break for a year would be helpful for Drake too. Make people miss him being outside you know ? Then return will an amazing album. Yeah that would be great. I think the dude just needs to take time to reflect. And we need that Kdot album asap. I haven’t been this excited for a drop in forever. If that snippet indicates what we’re getting, we’re in for a treat! Do you guys think ‘Not Like Us’ will be on his album? Kinda crazy not to considering how massive it is.. but how would it fit in with an entire project? Maybe a bonus track? Let me know what you think

I’ll say this much. Whatever Drake’s next album is, his feature list is not going to look the same. He’s beefing with almost have of the artists that are featured on Certified Lover Boy.

Drake won't fall off. Drake is too talented - the writers he work with are too talented. Drake is too tapped in and will find another region with popping Black artists to colonize and create a bop with them. Drake's gameplan is nearly flawless - he'll be back on the top of the charts through sheer strategy and the power of his team. "Keep Making Dance and Waving My Hand And There Won't Be No Threat" ALSO! The Not Like Us video isn't the end. We still have Kendrick performing the song at award shows and PG Lang will drop the Pop Out Documentary - that will be a moment too.

Yeah, sure, he'll stay around for a few more seasons; however, if he'll be back on the top of the charts because his writers are "too talented" and "through sheer strategy and the power of his team", please explain how in thee help Drake got knocked the eff out?. . . . (in my FRIDAY's South Central Smokey's voice). 🤨

I'm really starting to think that it's not Drake fans making it worse I think it's casual music fans who don't like to think making it worse. They just want music as background noise not art.

I’ve said this since the moment Meet The Grahams dropped: Drake should just take a 6 month to a year hiatus and go completely quiet. No song, no features, no promotions, no posts, no tweets or quotes. Nothing!!! Stay in the cut. And when you come back out of hiding you better drop the best album of your career. And when you do that don’t even mention Kendrick in your music. No subliminals or nothing because you’ll sink the rest of what’s left of your career…. Not necessarily because Kendrick might say something but the world is going to continue you to cook you for this as long as it’s mentioned. Just don’t say anything. Let us forget
