Firstly, educate yourself. Kendrick’s last world tour was the highest grossing solo rap tour ever. He is known world wide. Drake might have more fans world wide, but let’s not pretend like he is some niche underground rapper from California. Drake has a lot of hits yes. But among my teenage students, they don’t see him as a hip hop artist but a pop artist. Maybe this beef changed that, but as a music teacher any time Drake came up it was passion fruit or some of his other melodic stuff. I’m Dutch living in the Uk so I’ve got some experience with how well known he is outside of the U.S. With regard to Drake, there are no half time performances on the field of the World Cup. They won’t change their rules so Drake can 1 up Kendrick. Their break is only 15 minutes. And as for him performing in their opening ceremony… they don’t usually have a single performer. They have many, and Drake might do one song, but he wouldn’t be the whole show. Let’s also not pretend that Drake has been planning this or was ahead of all this. He said as big as the Super Bowl, meaning he was big enough to play the Super Bowl. Lil Wayne is not a good performer. I’d watch Drake over Lil Wayne at the Super Bowl. At least he has hits and will put on a show. Lil Wayne is also known to not show up to his rehearsals. I understand why people would want him to perform there. But seen as he’s already not a great performer and then also doesn’t show up to rehearsals… I would not book him for something that big. Also, keep in mind that Super Bowl is during Black History Month… Pretty sure Jay-Z and the NFL board booked Kendrick for “the culture”. Taylor Swift is also not too big for the Super Bowl. The world would tune into that too! Unless you’re saying that Taylor would decline it because she’s feels she’s too big?

But then again the weekend did it a few years ago so perhaps it is a good time for Kendrick. 3. Drake will be part of the WC in what capacity that’s still to be determined, but we hear you on the half time. 4. Lil Wayne i still believe would have been a good show, even with him trending for his bad performances. SB is all for tv it’s different than a live show
