Why people keep saying cole didn't start the beef. Yessssss He did!!

It’s wild that there are people actually defending Cole in the comments..I love J Cole. He’s one of my favorite artists of all time, not just from Hiphop. But he’s a rapper, and he’s been talking like people don’t want smoke with him his entire career. Then when he finally gets some smoke, he tucks tail and runs. If he was doing any other type of music, we could all respect his apology. But this is Hiphop. Battling is one of the foundational elements that they used to evolve the culture, not just in rap, but in bboying and DJing too. Imagine Nas apologizing to Jay Z after Ether. That would have never happened. Anybody who really loves Hiphop understands this move from J Cole is unacceptable.

Difference, Jay z and Nas ACTUALLY had issues. They really didn’t like each other Cole and Kendrick not like that And being totally fair, they was both TRASH in this, Kendrick’s diss was LIGHT as hell. And Cole’s was cool, but he did it totally wrong Here me out, if Cole had been the one to INITIATE the situation, then the apology COULD work depending on how he breaks it down. In that situation, it would make sense seeing as he said he felt forced to diss Kendrick But that ONLY works out if you STARTED the shit. Responding to shit THEN apologizing, especially in these times, will make you look SUPER BAD BUT! What I find even worse, is all these rappers talking bout they wanted to see a lyrical war. But NONE of them wanna be in one😂 And see, I think that worried Cole, like what if it gets taken beyond Rap? Remember, a lot of those beefs back in the day that ended in lives lost? Started out just like Cole & Kendrick’s situation OR Maybe he had a second thought, that two brothers trying to be the change Pac talked about, shouldn’t be tryna diss each other Whatever the reason, the look right now is BAD BAD

People defending J. Cole haven't been listening to him the past two years. Cole did it to himself with all the tough talk. Shit is worse than Will Smith slapping Chris Rock. Broke my heart. Smh. You can't throw stones and hide your hands. Cole did that. I don't wanna hear any tough talk from Cole. It's all Cao now. Damn.

Man, had nothing but LOYALTY to Cole and PRIDE in the music he has been making. He’s been on a year proving his a rap GOD. Fool was in his ELEMENT and HUMBLED himself in the name of LOVE but it has to be FEAR. Us being out for BLOOD was a bullshit excuse. But YAH, I guess MCing just isn’t in his DNA if he can’t stand on business. The LUST is over we don’t even care about the fall off anymore. Acting like he didn’t want someone to end up like XXX. Smh. Hope the DUCK was WORTH it on his mental because that wasn’t it. DAMN.

He didn't apologise to kendrick, he apologised to his fans. He moved wrong, out of character, for using it to promo his ep. I still believe if someone he didn't respect came for him it'd be war and he would demolish them.

It definitely tarnished J Cole's reputation... but he's still J Cole though. He still have insane penmanship so 🤷🏿‍♂🤷🏿‍♂🤷🏿‍♂I'm very conflicted with Cole's actions on this. But I wouldn't be mad, will never happen, if they came out with a collab album.

"Why am I tested"? So you talked all that big talk running around the field saying you the best player, but expected not to be tested? Crazy. Talk about being dramatic, big ass stage performance over what? Rappers throw punches all the time. It didn't sit right with him? But it wasn't that serious, what didn't sit right? We are both playing ball here. It's like we're playing basketball and I apologize for playing the game with you. People be acting like it's crazy for us to want 2 players in a game to compete, the way they are supposed to. That's always been part of Hip hop. And you even said you would play all the time, im the best im the best. You dont think if a footballer said "i dont want to play" people would have a right to be upset? they're holding you up to the standard of a player, who plays the game...

Because he's grown !! Ain't a damn thing gonna happen to his career...it could've gone another way.Ppl need to grow up Folks egos and pride and this Internet.kendrick is amazing and Cole .In 2024 it's nothing wrong with a person apologizing he didn't let his ego nor his pride nor this Internet dictate his feelings.good for you cole

apparently he did cuz he put out something he didn't stand behind, he put out something he didn't believe in himself.. no one is mad about the apology itself, its about acting tough saying one thing and when it comes down to it you back off and do the other. if he didn't respond with a diss, and had this stance from the very beginning then that would have been completely different... this now diminishes every single bar he recently spit acting tough saying he want a challenge he want beef he's better than everyone, cuz apparently he's not and is scared to prove it. gotta be ready to back up your own words and he couldn't

Imagine Kobe saying "you know I felt bad in my spirit when I dropped 70 last night, I need to apologize and I'm no longer gonna play in the finals ever again, people just want bloodshed!" Like bro. Come on. Thats weak af and no spinning this. I'm glad for Cole the man but Cole the rapper is gonna be seen differently now. That simple.
