For people wondering, yes this is the titan owned by Clinton Anderson. That’s why the moves are so agressive and the horses head hangs obnoxiously low. Yes, I know reining horses have a low set head but there is a difference between low set, and a head that’s practically touching the ground. Aswell as the fact he looks unnecessarily collected, I’m assuming from the bit he’s using because he isn’t pulling. He’s going to be screwed for life though. He’s a 2013 stallion who competed in his first major show in 2015 (for people who don’t know what I’m getting at, A horse should not be written until they are at least three years old because their body hasn’t finished growing and it can really severely mess up their joints. If he was competing his first show in 2015, that means that he was broke to ride at less than 2 years old. On top of it, he’s actually deaf and his color means his face is easily sunburnt. All these issues and he’s actually registered to breed with horses this year. Though his coloring is very pretty, I’m disappointed with his upbringing because once he tops 15or 18 years old that’ll be it for him. His joints with be screwed and he’ll probably be in pain.

Broke to ride at less than 2? They start getting them ready to ride at 2 years of age. The same age literally almost every single trainer or professional starts their horses. He didn't compete until his third year, and he actually missed his first showing because his knee had swelled a bit and they didn't wanna work him until he healed.

@@feathersong5838 bro most professionals do NOT start horses under saddle at two years, they wait til 3 to 5 depending on the horse and breed, and 3 is still quite young. vets recommend 4 for all breeds and most pros train at 3 for an EARLY start. if pros around you are starting their horses as basically the horse equivalent of tweenhood, you should not be looking up to them. idk what discipline you're in but that's far from normal and would disqualify a lot of riders in most disciplines.

I’m assuming you’re taking data from different horse breeds. While other breeds have to wait to 3 or later to be started, quarter horses grow very fast and can be ridden at 2 years old. I show a 15 year old reining horse, he was started at 2 years old and competed at the NRHA futurity, and his joints work fine, he still stops big and moves nicely. These horses don’t just become crippled since we take very good care of them. Coming from a Reiner myself, these horses like to carry their heads low, naturally with how they have been bred to be built they prefer a lower headset. Epic Titan is fine and I assure you he will be retired before 15 since he’s a stallion, he’ll go out to pasture to be collected for mares.

Everyone saying Andrea is not a good rider needs to watch his 2007 run on Big Chex To Cash. This is probably the only time I’ll every say a run is bad because of the horse or the horses training.

@@bun3867 Clinton says that he puts his best hands on his 2 year olds. The people with the most feel timing, and experience to put in a good foundation. Clinton did just that. But, he also admits that he needs a ton more show experience, so maybe that's why he sent Titan to Andrea. Clinton's method gives you a safe, respectful, and dependable horse, so in my opinion, that makes him the best. I don't know of anyone else who has a recipe like that laid out for you.

I ride at a reining barn (I am not western) the horses are trained to do that by repetitive 'bumping' of the bit. The rider will lift his hands and kind of wiggle the bit in the horses mouth to remind it to keep its head down. I have seen horses that forget and I will never forget how the rider reminded them. In english riding we like to ask the horse to lower its head too as a back stretching routine and when we ride we take breaks and stretch and walk a bit.

@@NordeggSonya yeah no lol that's not how it is trained. That head position is not a must in reining, it is usually a side effect of a horse becoming soft and supple. Even high level dressage horses when walked on loose rein will have head carriage like this . Reining horses are made to be supple by training lateral vertical flexions, controlling the ribcage , shoulders , hindquarters .

Nice horse. I don't know the rider but he needs to chill. I have never seen anyone ride a horse that well trained that couldn't keep his seat. I have seen novice children do better than that. If someone threw their weight that hard on my horse to force a flying lead change like that I would kick the crap out of them and check my horse for a broken leg. I was barely 100 pounds and could make my horses change leads with a slight move of my toes. This was crazy.
@justme-dm7sb
@justme-dm7sb 3 жыл бұрын
@Melissa Oestreich I climbed on behind the ears of one of the neighbors halfbreed workhorse and got him to raise his head so I could wiggle down his neck when I was 4 years old. For the next 14 years I lived on a horse until I had to go to work in the real world. I did show and I won. A lot. That was a lifetime ago. I had my spine fused around 45 and that pretty well ended my riding. I stand by what I said - I would check my horse for a broken leg after an episode like that. And yes only a small signal is needed. I don't care what a guys name is, or a woman, some people simply are not that good. I have seen some impressive things from Tracy Westfall and some French guy from night of the horse. And the Boise Nez Perce tribe that rides bareback without bridles. There are some impressive trainers. A girl riding a blind horse with a rope around its neck at the withers. She could make her horse do a flying lead change without a noticable movement. She could also have it jump a low bar. You are watching the wrong trainers to be a good trainer. Names mean nothing, results mean everything.
