I used to be a blasphemous hater of God just like these men until about the age of 25. I investigated the major world religions reading their holy books and saved the Bible for last. It's when I read the words of Jesus Christ in the gospels that the Holy Spirit give me faith to believe. @@willaimrobinson9383 What the Bible Actually IsActually, the Bible is the story of YOUR LIFE AND MY LIFE. It is the un-folding of the spiritual life of every man. As one grows in spiritual perception, he grows into a deeper understanding of the Bible. Each time he reads it, it contains a new and richer meaning. It is as if the pages come to life. What was once a gory battle becomes an allegory, giving the reader an insight into his own spiritual unfoldment. Jesus said that the enemies are all those of our own household. They are enemy thoughts of our own mental households which can be overcome by Truth. The Bible is the story of man’s journey from Paradise to Paradise. Along the way he meets all of the temptations and problems of everyday living. To quote from Judge Troward, a man with a deep understanding of the Bible: The Bible is the Book of the Emancipation of Man. The emancipation of man means his deliverance from sorrow and sickness, from poverty, struggle, and uncertainty, from ignorance and limitation, and finally from death itself. This may appear to be what the euphuistic colloquialism of the day would call “a tall order,” but nevertheless it is impossible to read the Bible with a mind unwrapped by antecedent conceptions derived from traditional interpretation without seeing that this is exactly what it promises, and that it pro- 12fesses to contain the secret whereby this happy condition of perfect liberty may be attained. The Bible, which literally means THE BOOK, contains sixty-six books which tell in allegory, prophecy, epistle, parable and poem, man’s generation, degeneration and regeneration. Over and over again, from every conceivable approach, we read of the experience of each one of us as he seeks to discover the Truth about himself and his relationship to Life. The first two chapters of Genesis (meaning the beginning) and the last two chapters of Revelation, the final book, tell of the will of God for man. In the beginning we find man created in the “image” and “likeness” of God and given dominion “. . . over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.” In Revelation we again have the vision of that perfection which rightfully belongs to man. All the rest of the Bible is concerned with the journey of the soul back to its original awareness of perfection, man as a child of God. It is the story of the struggle of man who, cheated by the senses into thinking that satisfaction comes from without, struggles to exert his will against God, the infinite Goodness and Perfection within him. Story after story describes man’s voluntary journey into bondage, the thing that happens to man when he chooses to become established in a con-sciousness apart from God. It is the story of the prodigal son; it is the story of the children of Israel, leaving their own lands, going down into Egypt into bondage and their great desire to get back to the promised land. This story is repeated over and over, like the theme in a symphony, in many different set-tings and circumstances so that each one wandering in the wilderness of un-enlightened thought can find himself and his particular problem. Through it all the Love of God seeks to reconcile man to Himself. God speaks through the prophets and all those who have ears to hear, offering to reclaim rebellious man and restore him to the Kingdom of Heaven, that di-vine order of perfection, that dominion which is man’s rightful heritage as a child of God. This is the regeneration. It is not that man has really ever been lost; it is only that he has chosen to think of himself as separated from his Maker. It has seemed easier to him to trust in the evidence of his senses ra-ther than the Truth of his Being.

Praise God He used that to spare your life and eventually save you many years later. I had a similar experience while solo backpacking on the Appalachian Trail a few years ago. I stopped for a snack lunch and rest, and suddenly I heard a voice say, "You need to go now." Startled, I looked all around and saw no one, but I also quickly stowed my gear, donned my pack, and continued hiking. I hadn't taken 30 steps when I heard a huge crash. A large tree had fallen right where I was sitting. This is the only time in my life I can recall such an experience and I attribute this to God or an angel. Alternate theories (subconscious processing of pre-fall noises from the tree, a prankster, random thought + coincidence) seem less likely. Either way, I was able to come home safely after that trip and I give God the glory. I trusted my Lord Jesus Christ when I was 16, so this was not something causing or contributing to my salvation. Personally, had that ended my life, I would have had the joy of being in the immediate presence of my Lord and would "know as I am known", and I can think of nothing more preferable. But I'm also grateful for God's wisdom. He knows the number of my days here, and I trust His timing for when He calls me home.

A lot of times He pops into my mind but I would shrug it off. He was patient with me, always knocking on my heart. During those times I would always wonder why I was still alive and well. One part of my mind keep saying it was Him protecting me all along but I ignored it. Now that I’m back with Him, I realized that I have come so far. I’m stronger. I forgave my parents. I was in a mall in Atlanta, Georgia with a friend of mine. There was a group of women in the middle of the mall doing séances in Palm reading. We decided to sit down on a bench and pray near where they were. We were praying very quietly , literally very quietly. All of a sudden the women who were doing the palm readings started looking up over the tops of their little tents that they had set up in the mall. They started peeking around like meerkats, one after another, poking their heads out, like they were looking for owls and eagles in the air. then they started swarming around like red ants who had just had their nest poked with a stick and they were trying to figure out who was doing the poking. We continued praying. As we were praying, they all started talking with one another. Finally one of the women looked over in our direction. And a couple more left in our direction. They said something to one another. And one of the women came over stood about 10 to 15 feet away from us. And said “could you please move your interrupting our readings. “I asked her how is it that we could be interrupting their reading if we’re just sitting there?” I saw God affect the spiritual realm in real time right in front of my eyes. Prayer is real. This is why they don’t want us praying outside abortion clinics. When I was in Houston, Texas, a group of friends, and I went to an abortion clinic, rather we went to a right to life clinic that was literally sharing a building with an abortion clinic. One day there was a homeless man on top of the roof. it was evening time and there was a complaint about him being there. He was making a lot of noise and acting a bit strange. When the police got on top of the building, he begged them to take him down. He kept saying evil things happen in this building there are demons here evil things happen in this building. They thought he was crazy as he described the demons he was seeing on the roof of the building. They don’t want us praying in front of these buildings. They chase people off when they pray because they know it makes a difference.

@@ghenulo So then, you know all things and and have knowledge of all things, to make such an absolute statement? If your view is that, that there is nothing, then by your own view and logic of it, then there is no real point in caring for anything or anyone. If nothing after death, and life is seen as pain and missery, then what is the point of extending life, is the attitude and mindset you show. And you'll say that since life is short, then "you care all the more for it", but that is a lie, if just random from random by random out of nothing randomly by chance, then there is nothing special about life, life is then just a deviant. With life after death, there is reason to care not only for life now, but to also care for life after death. If life is not random, but created, that means a purpose, and that makes life special, and gives a reason and meaning to care for life. Many people from different cultures separated by vast distances and oceans, hold to life after death. If something "evolving" several times though separated, meaning "convergent evolution", then if separated yet multiple instances of the same thing, and if holding to logic being consistent and relied upon to be so, never changing, then there is reason to trust what is said by multiple people, and not just outright dismiss their commonality. That multiple people say the same thing, though differently, is proof that there is truth to what they say. Different persons describe different parts of an elephant, that can be concluded to be an elephant, by their description. If one person describes an object on four wheels, another says it is yellow, a third describes six windows, and the last mentions a spoiler, then we can conclude that it is a yellow car with a spoiler. That multiple cultures have mention of a large cataclysmic flood, is reason to trust that there was a large cataclysmic flood. That multiple people make mention, of seeing things after death, describing things, is reason to trust there being truth to it. You hold to a view of long time, because you think that fossils take a long time to form, and because you trust 100% in flawed fallible radiometric dating, that is shown and proven to be false, and only ever been correct about age less than the fingers you have on one hand. It does not take long time for a fossil to form, it takes a short time for a fossil to form. It is pressure that forms a fossil, a global flood covering animals in sediments, is providing that pressure. And regarding radiometric dating, it is assumptions, assumptions and guesses, it is assuming that the guess of original state of rock to be correct, and assuming that the guess of radioactive half life to be correct, consistent, and never having changed. The original state of rock, have not been observed or measured, nor have it been observed or measured, which isotopes came into the rock over time, till today, radiometric dating to determine age is thus unreliable, because it relies upon an unknown, resulting in flawed incorrect results, that since relying on an unknown will foreverbe flawed, incorrect, faulty. I find therefore no reason to trust proposed hypothetical ages, to in any way be considered as fact, but rather as unproveable hypothesis that is unfalsifiable, by the constant of increase of age, as if increasing time does away with the problems the evoluitonism world view makes for itself. Applying more time, or more power, to something that already is faulty in logic or rationality, does not work to suddenly make it correct. This basic comprehension of logical reasoning, is something Bill Nye have shown that he fails to grasp. If I bake a cake, then no amount of calculations and measurements, no matter the amount of time, will ever tell you the purpose or reason or meaning, as to why I baked that cake. There are things, that science no matter how much time, cant answer, including afterlife, and reason for life.

God knows, I would've taken that pain for him if I could've. 😢 At the time, he blamed me for bringing him to the hospital. You & I can see the big picture, but at the time, he couldn't. A few years later, I got a call that my husband had been in a car accident. That's all I knew, so I called a friend to babysit while I went to the hospital. He was DOA. We were devastated. Weeks later, my 8 yr old screamed at me that he hated me, and he wished I was the one who had died. He blamed me for not taking him to the hospital so he could say, "good bye." Although kids weren't allowed in the ER and his dad was already gone, in his 8 yr old mind, it was ME that caused his suffering. Of course, I wasn't angry; just sorrowful over his pain. My sons are in their mid-30s now, my older son has a family of his own and we all very close. ❤ I'm shocked at how quickly time flies by. Anyway, my point is: I wonder if that's kinda how it is with God. That maybe our suffering isn't "punishment" but rather the result of a series of events in a fallen world. Interestingly, a significant portion, roughly 60 - 70%, of the atheists I conversed with expressed belief in paranormal phenomena. It gradually became clear that their aversion was primarily directed at Jesus Christ rather than the broader question of the existence of a higher power. All forms of suffering are a result of rejecting the divine path. We might choose to deny the existence of God as a way to reject the consequences of our rebellious actions, using this as a justification for our disbelief. However, such denial does not negate the actual existence of God. We must come to that light bulb moment to acknowledge that God holds the position of supreme authority, while we are subordinate. We require God far more than God requires us. Eccept Jesus Christ as Lord or choose the judgement that has been set since the foundation of the world John 3:18 John 3:36

I’m absolutely fascinated by the accounts shared with NDE’s. It gives us a lot of insight into why our existences play out as they do. I was raised as an atheist but am a full believer now. Earth is intended to be the most challenging school for any soul to exist on and we purposefully chose these existences. So our suffering does in fact have a purpose for spiritual growth. God is not making any mistakes or ignoring us at all.
@dankurina9191 Жыл бұрын
Spoken like a true new ager maybe? New agers justify negative people or experiences as needed for growth. Isn't the soul which is apparently a fragment of God or Source they call him now perfect already? Some say that God wants to experience life outside of Itself and hence all us individuals. And with the mind wipe before the next life how are you supposed to learn all the hoops to become another ascendant master ( and how many of those does God need?) During the life review (no St Peter and pearly gates apparently) WE and not God or Jesus decide with our guides to come back during the life review to this school of hard knocks again and again. People that have had NDEs say it's way better there but we're usually persuaded to return (don't die at that point to tell the tale) because it's not "your time" and "you're not finished" or your kids need you etc. A high frequency soul trap with archons masquerading as loved ones forcing you back here again again to feed off you energy and slave away again? They say we don't have to come back. Most of this stuff is faith and pretty much still pure speculation... I could have gone on too.

The one thing I wish would be emphasized more in these discussions is that the devil exists and he's the one behind what we see as "senseless suffering". If the man angry at God for suffering would place that anger where it belongs (the devil) then he would answer his own question on why these things happen. Would you know how horrible your enemy is and how passionately he hates you if you didn't have evidence of his horrible nature? And ironically by turning away from God, they are serving the purpose of the very person who's the author of the things they are angry about
@honkytears Жыл бұрын
God created the devil knowing before he created him exactly how that old devil would turn out. How can a being act outside of his own nature? And who imbues a being any nature at all if not the being's creator?
@samjack4689 Жыл бұрын
@@honkytears He knew YOU would defy Him when He created you. But He went ahead and created you anyways. And He gave you the same choice as had the devil to defy His will. Is He making you write this? Turn on Him? Do you not feel you have autonomy whether to follow Him or not? Because that's the same choice the Devil had. And when he chose to deviate God allowed him to manifest his plans fully so that now we ALL see what a deviation from God's plan entails and therefore no one will ever want to do it again. Which is why Sin will never enter creation again once God destroys it root and branch. Not because He'll destroy our will but because we would have known that it doesn't serve our best interest. Furthermore even in our own finite world we have examples to answer your question. Aren't there parents that did the best by their children but those children went against the parents' wishes anyways? Breaking the parents' heart? Is it the parents fault when the child disobeys? You wouldn't think so. Do you think the parent regrets having that child who they love? Of course not! How much more our Father in heaven!

So why do the animals need to suffer, horrifically at times, as well?
@peterxuereb9884 Жыл бұрын
@andrewlawson573 Because of original sin. That is why everything suffers. The difference with animals is that they can not worship God animals do not have free will.
@TimJBucci Жыл бұрын
@@peterxuereb9884 I've witnessed animals dream. Animals have thoughts, feelings, decisions that they make. All life likely has free will, just not all life was born with thumbs to grasp their surroundings and create tools to learn from and teach others more advantageous ways of getting by in life. I always wondered, "Little racoons have thumbs, how come they seem to lack intelligence so much more so than us?" And then I always answer my own question with, "Well, they are much smaller than us and their lifespans are much shorter than ours, giving them much less capability to lift heavier tools in their environments and living less time to figure out how to teach their future generations to manipulate their surroundings." Besides, we have animal cells in our bodies, because there's just basically plant cells, animal cells, and mushrooms being like an in between. The evidence the universe is ancient is astronomical, literally. I saw a book I haven't read titled The Beginning was the End. Which basically theorizes that cannibalistic apes ate the brains of their kin because of the euphoric effects, and in such a way led to our hair loss and higher intellect to devise further methods of dispatching others to get high from their brain chemicals. God has been there for every development within creation, sure, having a hand in helping all lifeforms develop into what they are. But many stories of the bible are just that. The universe being built in a week with waters above and below the firmament seems to only confuse flat earthers when the metaphor or even mistranslations are likely meant to be interpreted differently. The whole of humanity originating from 1 person becoming 2 people who then were conned by a talking snake to condemn the world would procreate families through incest. An ark being built to salvage a male and female of every animal species doesn't reveal how the animals came from and returned to their regions of origin. Many cultures have a flood story because there were likely survivors globally from such a catastrophe. I think extraterrestrials, some religious folks consider fallen angels, also played their own role in shaping and building this world to accommodate life, because without Earth's mostly iron core generating a magnetic field, and the sway of the Moon and the Suns gravitational influence on the tides, life would have never developed as we know it.

If you are saying a prayer didn't have any effect, you are committing the "hypothesis contrary to fact" fallacy. Notice that there is a difference between "have any effect" and "get exactly the answer the person who prayed wanted to exactly the extent they wanted". All this before even accounting for the fact that God isn't going to do YOUR will but His , as His will is perfect. Prayer works in that God hears and answers as He wills, not as others will. Sinful humans can't logically decide prayer doesn't work because they don't like how God does His will in answering prayers, which may mean answering "no" because He knows better.

[20] There are things about God that people cannot see-his eternal power and all that makes him God. But since the beginning of the world, those things have been easy for people to understand. They are made clear in what God has made. So people have no excuse for the evil they do. [21] People knew God, but they did not honor him as God, and they did not thank him. Their ideas were all useless. There was not one good thought left in their foolish minds. [22] They said they were wise, but they became fools. [23] Instead of honoring the divine greatness of God, who lives forever, they traded it for the worship of idols-things made to look like humans, who get sick and die, or like birds, animals, and snakes. [24] People wanted only to do evil. So God left them and let them go their sinful way. And so they became completely immoral and used their bodies in shameful ways with each other. [25] They traded the truth of God for a lie. They bowed down and worshiped the things God made instead of worshiping the God who made those things. He is the one who should be praised forever. Amen. [26] Because people did those things, God left them and let them do the shameful things they wanted to do. Women stopped having natural sex with men and started having sex with other women. [27] In the same way, men stopped having natural sex with women and began wanting each other all the time. Men did shameful things with other men, and in their bodies they received the punishment for those wrongs. [28] People did not think it was important to have a true knowledge of God. So God left them and allowed them to have their own worthless thinking. And so they do what they should not do. [29] They are filled with every kind of sin, evil, greed, and hatred. They are full of jealousy, murder, fighting, lying, and thinking the worst things about each other. They gossip [30] and say evil things about each other. They hate God. They are rude, proud, and brag about themselves. They invent ways of doing evil. They don't obey their parents, [31] they are foolish, they don't keep their promises, and they show no kindness or mercy to others. [32] They know God's law says that anyone who lives like that should die. But they not only continue to do these things themselves, but they also encourage others who do them.

In 2001 my friends congregation were all gathered on a Sunday at an LDS Church in Slc, Ut. When the Pastor/Bishop announced that Linda had just been diagnosed with a dior, life threatening situation, and she was to be rushed into surgery momentarily. Yes. The Pastor heard of her plight and asked if they might all, over 50 members in attendance that day take a moment to pray for Linda. Which they did. Her daughter called later to tell the Pastor that when they got her to surgery and opened her up that the tumor wasn’t there. Gone. Entirely disappeared. The explanation? None given. Because the Doctors cannot do not make claims that prayers obliterated her cancerous tumor. Remarkable situations like this happen every day. Prayer can and does alter frequency. Don’t kid yourself.

First of all, to assume that just because a person works in the medical field automatically makes them atheist is just plain foolish. I know scores of people that are both in the medical field and believers in God, miracles and the power of prayer. Also, thats fine for you to personally discount her story because its "without documented evidence" but there are plenty of instances of even actual unbelieving medical professionals that have seen things like this that they say they just have no explanation for. @guitarszen

That doesn't explain why other believers in similar dire circumstances don't have their prayers answered. That said, I'm a Christian who recognizes I'm a fallible human and I can't possibly understand the meaning of life. But, I do believe there is one creator of our universe. Therefore, in my prayers I recognize my ignorance to God and trust his wisdom. I'm grateful to have my faith and feel sorry for those who don't have the same. And, yes, I pray for them, too. I also take heart that this world we live in is 'not what it's about'. Instead, it's ALL about life after we leave this world.

If they don't believe in God, it's because they have denied God and continued to transgress his word until God turns them over to a reprobate mind, to believe a lie and be damned, they have served the creature more than the creator

Amen! THAT is the 1st greatest miracle, GOD came to us, came down to our physical level, endured all this evil & suffering with us, to save ALL those who would believe that HE could & would do this for us. God takes the blame for Lucifer rebelling against Him & going against that which God loves most, the perfectly created earth & humans created in His image. Humanity was kidnapped away from the Father & Satan & his demons delight in all the horrendous ways that humans can be coerced & manipulated into terrorising & murdering each other. GOD did not create evil, or death, He intended Adam & Eve & their children, to be eternal physical beings & He came to DIE & rose again from death, to prove to us that death & evil is NOT what He intended for us. He also gave us intelligence, free will, to choose - do you think Satan will allow you to choose? Will he ask you nicely & say "please"? Especially if you know the truth . . . NO. Satan has to lie & intice, tempt & deceive, ultimately threaten & terrify you, he gets entirely way too much pleasure in watching us tear each other apart & suffer - knowing he is causing God to suffer along with each & every one of us. THINK people, use that intelligence & choose wisely!

The question of evil & suffering in this world is probably the strongest argument vs. God’s existence… John Lennox’s response is the best I’ve heard & can be readily found elsewhere on KZbin… The foremost response for me is that God, Himself, entered into our world as a man and personally suffered the greatest, deepest pain & evil on behalf of mankind… He then rose victorious over death, suffering & evil vicariously for us, for me… THAT, to my thinking, is what’s most profound, encouraging & true…

No one has been able to completely answer this question, why can't an all knowing, omnipotent (meaning limitless power not bound by anything) God who can do whatever he wants create a universe that is perfect with no suffering, where everyone can get along and live in eternal bliss. A kind of man that would not have eaten from the tree of good and evil. Instead of this universe where 90 percent of mankind goes to hell.
